9 times out of 10, I always end up editing mine over wrong choice of words, leaving out a word, words that shouldn't even be there, and your occasional misspelling. And yet, English was always my strong point. It gets annoying as hell. Bleh.
What about you?

Only if I make a stupid spelling mistake. I'm a bit of a grammar nazi and the only thing worse than other people's mistakes is your own so if I make a mistake of that nature I will go back and edit my post. That's the only reason I ever modify posts though.

If I catch a spelling mistake I'll go back and fix it or if I forgot some lame comment I'll add it in.
I should also fix my grammar since bad at grammar I can be it seems.

Pretty often, usually because my fingers can't keep up with my brain and I'll misspell something.

Usually straight after I post something, then again when I realise it's still wrong.

Pretty often, usually because my fingers can't keep up with my brain and I'll misspell something. I think that's why it happens to me. My brain would just process whatever I'm thinking, but it's too fast for my fingers to keep up, so I end up leaving out a word completely. Also, sometimes I get so tired of it, that instead of just modifying my post, I quickly copy it, delete the post, and then repost it with the corrections JUST so I or anyone else don't have to see the "Last Edit" tag at the bottom of my post.

If it's a misspell I let it ride, if I left out something, I'll modify.

Constantly. Usually, it's either fixing grammar or realizing I forgot to say something. Sometimes it's to ease up on my word choice if I think I might be coming off a bit too harshly.
This time it's to prove a point.
well two points proven now.

I usually make mistakes because I'll type fast, then hit send & realise I spelt something wrong. Or sometimes I'll type something into quick reply, wanna put a link & be too lazy to copy & paste my message, so I'll post, get the link then edit it in.

Pretty often. Usually to correct spelling errors or, to add a point/comment that I failed to include before.

Honestly, I think I've only edited my own messages once. As for mods editing my messages or anything, I can't recall a time, although given my lack of attention it wouldn't surprise me.

I edit my posts all the time and it's usually because I spelled something wrong or worded something in a way that didn't make sense. I only post from my phone since my laptop screen is cracked so I tend to make alot more mistakes when typing out a long post.

I edit my posts a lot, but usually before sending them because I hate seeing "Last edited by ... " at the bottom of my message.
I check for spelling and grammar but also for wordiness; often I'll end up deleting a few words before sending.
