Even though the lyrics of Cult of Personality could indicate a heel, the song is just too fun sounding to boo and for a guy like CM Punk who's a serious heel, he should probably have something that sounds...less fun. I'm not sure what he should come out to, but I'm starting to think that COP is definitely not the song he should be using.
So that begs the question: Should CM Punk change his theme song?

I'm tired of it. I'm in the minority of people who preferred This Fire Burns...

Nope, especially when one considers the meanings behind the lyrics, which sound pretty heelish to me.

Miseria Cantare? I like the song CoP but it kind of died with the angle it was brought in with, and started to sound kind of odd since about January or so to me. I don't think it's that great a long-term theme.

It's got a great hook, it describes his character perfectly, and it's becoming associated with his character. Dumping it now would be like Austin dropping the shattering glass.

They should have him come out to something that gives his heat to Cena. Maybe clown music o something. I mean, that's the whole point of this, right?

Dumping it now would be like Austin dropping the shattering glass. Granted, he didn't drop the hook, but he did change his theme to try to fit his character better.

And that went over so well. I get the point, though, the variation with lyrics worked well, but I think that Cult is pretty much the definitive Punk theme by this point, and it's even a nice nod to his indy past.

Maybe it's because I've heard CoP so many times over the years, I'd rather him change it to something that is entirely fresh to fit his character. Another thing, I don't think CoP brings the energy to the table the way that TFB did.

God no. How often does a WWE Superstar get a legitimate classic rock hit as a theme song? It's way too cool to get rid of, especially when you consider how fitting the lyrics are.

Yeah but do you want the heel to be cool at this point? Isn't it better for him to get booed than to have a cool sounding theme song?

It's not like they're going to give heels shitty music for themes just to make the audience boo them. Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker, Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Bret Hart, DX, Edge, Brock Lesnar, Batista, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit... there have been countless heels with kickass theme songs.

Cult of Personality was originally used during his ROH Title run when he was one of the biggest dicks in the company and signed his WWE contract on the ROH world championship belt.
It's an amazing song for a heel, really.

Yes.
Not because it would effect his character one way or the other, but because I just flat out do not now nor have never liked Living Colour.
So.... I guess if he's a heel, keep it, because I'm already heating up before dude has hit the ring apron.

Might as well just take away everything that was good about the dude.
Hell, the music gets a pop, give it to John Cena.

Keep it, because I've loved that song since I was a little kid, and no matter how much of a heel Punk is, he's still my hero, dammit! The man could spit in my face and say I have a vaginaaaaa and I'd still cheer him! Punk is the man, WHOOOOOOO!
