As much as I'd like to see FSU in the championship game, it is hard to see what they can offer after beating the mighty football powers of Murray State, Savannah State, and Wake Forest. Because LSU and Alabama have faced much better opponents? If you're going to be witty, at least have some facts. As disappointing as Michigan and Arkansas have been thus far, they're still tougher opponents than those three teams.

My point is that if people are going to bitch about our schedule because we face sub-par teams then apply it to everyone. LSU and Alabama have not had much harder schedules than FSU.

LSU has taken the grand stage against NOrth Texas, Idaho, Washington and upcoming Towson as their non-conference.
Alabama has had Michigan and Western Kentucky already, and still has Florida Atlantic and Western Carolina. Given that Michigan will probably end up with a couple more losses, they'll likely be ranked low/out of the rankings entirely by season end. They've beaten Arkansas, but that's conference and I'm not really counting it in that list (also, Arkansas is really down this year too. They'll probably end up in the same boat as Michigan).
I give Alabama credit for trying to get a great team in a non-conference game, since that's getting rarer and rarer it seems, even if it doesn't pan out.

So, that's what having a defense feels like. Now hold Shoelaces below 800 total yards, next week, and maybe we can finally beat him.

Oh, and Notre Dame is 3-0 for the first time since 2002.

You know, if NOtre Dame somehow managed to end up undefeated, I don't think anyone could prevent them from getting in the NC game, regardless of what any other team did.

I think their schedule would just about guarantee it. The rankings are going to change with USC losing but as of now they would have wins over #10 Michigan State, #17 Michigan, #21 Stanford, #25 Brigham Young, #5 Oklahoma, and #2 USC.

I would love it if they went undefeated and went to the NC, but the fact that they're not in a 'power conference' can really screw them over in the BCS standings.

Pollsters have a super hard for ND, plus the way their schedule breaks down would give him high enough cred in the computers. If they get through that schedule unbeaten I'd say they deserve a shot at a national title ove a 1 loss USC/Oregon or a Unbeaten WVU.

Yeah, I don't know if they could keep ND out of the NC game. Pollsters LOVE them some ND.

Pollsters would bust a nut getting ND in. They had special rules just for ND that other non-BCS schools didn't have. The tradition, history, and money potential would be so large that an undefeated or one-loss Notre Dame probably gets in over anyone else. If they did that on their schedule, that certainly wouldn't hurt either.
Notre Dame is the one example where being in a non-BCS conference just doesn't hurt them. They don't need it because they're Notre Dame.

Me too Koda, they haven't looks strong yet while TCU and WVU look to be the beasts of the Big 12 right now and OU has to beat them both-on the road-to even get to the title game. I'll also be honest with ya, I don't think they are better than Notre Dame and I seriously think they are in trouble next week against a darn good K-State team.

So how far will USC fall? Out of top 5? top 10? They'll fall to 12th. The bigger question is how far will Stanford jump?
