I know most, or many, will go with Mick Foley, but HIAC sick bumps aside most of his hardcare reputation is based on Japanese exploding barbwire death matches and his ECW run (which is ironic, since he was non-hardcore for a good bit of his time there).
I say Shane McMahon is the best hardcore wrestler in WWE history. Crazy stunt-man stuff that most guys would never do, great bump-taker who sold everything and just had a kind of wtf-factor going for him.
What do you think?

Rob Van Dam, Al Snow, Kane, Dudleys, Crash Holly, hard to pick just one.
I will cast a vote against Steve Blackman though, always hated his hardcore matches. And any other matches he had.

I still say Foley. The man incorporated at least one sick bump into all of his matches, hardcore or not. His legacy in Japan and ECW was just a history, his most dangerous matches happened in WWE IMO.

Crash Holly was always my favourite, and it's a shame he never gets the true credit he deserves for basically getting the division over. Speaking of which, anyone remember that interview Crash gave just after he left WWE where he had a few choice words for Foley?

It's still Foley.
- Getting thrown off and THROUGH the Hell in the Cell by The Undertaker - Taking 11 UNPROTECTED chair shows from The Rock - Getting pedrigreed into thumbtacks by HHH - Getting speared through a flaming table by Edge
That's just the first few that came to mind.

I'd say Rob Van Dam.
You could make a claim for Edge. He has done some sick hardcore spots throughout his career. I don't think i can name a bad "Hardcore" match in his portfolio.

Big Bossman/Road Dogg/Al Snow is the fued I remember most. I pick Snow Hardcore Holly was in there, too. I agree, the period from Bossman beating Foley to around Wrestlemania XV was my favorite period for the title.

Definately Shane McMahon for what he did in the ring and taking insane bumps that only Mick Foley would be willing to take and Shane was not a full time wrestler that if he were a full time wrestler, he'd be the most over on the roster

Steve Blackman was awesome in 2000. He and Shane had some awesome matches. I'd go with Blackman.

All the votes for Shane make me shake my head in disgust. He didn't do anything but take stupid bumps and hit spots that had no psychology just to get himself over because he was the boss's kid getting to pretend to be a wrestler. You can't be the best at anything when you constantly have seasoned vets carrying your ass.
Anyway, the best hands-down is Rob Van Dam. He took the Hardcore Title and made people give a damn about it, and made people want to order PPV's to see him defend the thing due to the quality of matches he was putting on with everyone. Never before had it been anything other than a novelty act.

Raven was a great hardcore wrestler in the WWF/E Also I do believe he had the most reigns with the title, so that obviously makes him the most hardcore

IMO HHH should be up there. His hardcore matches oozed psychology and every shot with a weapon counted. The sledgehammer is not unquestionably HHH's thing.
