Greg A. Bedard @gregabedard Ironic that because of a fight between NFL owners and the referees, the team to get royally screwed....is publicly owned

Hahaha, Rodgers says they used a kicking ball on a 2 point conversion. It's just surreal.

I think the original refs would have screwed this one up too. I'll be honest the replacement refs have done MUCH better then I thought they would. I hate the idea that the original refs would have gotten it right if they were present, because you know they never get a call wrong. The normal refs were this bad but because it's replacement refs it's put under a microscope. Also I am getting SO SICK of people pulling out the replacement ref card when something doesn't go their way. At this point I just want the hold out to end so then we quit seeing teams and fans use the replacement refs as an excuse for the same things happen on the field. Oh come on. At least the real referees know the rules. I can say with certainty that they never would've let this stand as a touchdown. It was OBVIOUS Jennings had possession. No way they would've botched an obvious call TWICE, like the replacements did. The players & coaches are who we should be listening to. Why? They've worked with the regular refs and the replacements. If they're THIS upset about replacements, maybe it really is the fault of the refs?

If the players walkout, I seriously think Goodell would stand at the 50 yard line, grab the mic & say he'd put on a better game with a broomstick than most of the guys in the league

The replacement refs have screwed with basic procedure items like correct distances on penalties repeatedly and the pace of the game. I don't know what you thought was going to happen but if this is good then okay I'm just saying that I'm going to love it when(If) the hold out ends and we will still see some bad calls. I'll admit some of the stuff is just plain crazy but I don't believe that the normal refs would fix every problem.

Can we called the next thread XFL:VII? Seems quite fitting.

Kicking balls are new and thus harder and slicker than balls used for regular play, it makes them harder to grip, grab and throw.

ESPN's John Clayton, who was the beat writer for Seattle for years, is reporting that this bad call may be the straw that broke the camels back in getting the real refs back. One of the refs signaled touchback, while the other signaled touchdown at the same time!
