How did Garett Bischoff find his way into WWE, and as a ref again? Thank you! That was what I was thinking when I saw him. There's also traces of a young Matt Hardy. Not seeing either of those. At all.

I'm getting serious Garrett Bischoff vibes from him too. He's not related to anybody on the roster is he? Please say no.

I agree with the James Marsden comparison, though I also see a little bit of Cillian Murphy there too.

I'm thinking the whole "AJ asked us to help out because they're short on refs" is going to lead to Punk challenging him to a match without realising he's actually a wrestler and then a star is born. Would it lead to a fluke win where Cena (or Ryback) distracts Punk somehow for Maddox to pick up the surprising roll-up win? Yes! Or a valiant effort, either is fine.

Matt was always the tank, so to speak, of the team. He was the one who took the beatings before making the hot tag to Jeff, who'd hit the flashy moves and get the big pops. He may have been the better worker, heck, he may still be the better worker, but he was always the second stringer to his brother in terms of crowd reactions and booking. On saying all that though, I literally just meant I couldn't see any resemblance in terms of looks, as I thought that was what people were saying - that Maddox looks like Garret or like young Matt, because he doesn't. At all.

I'm suprised there's actually a referee with a name. Who knew they were actual human-beings, right Vince?

Plus this ref is actually a wrestler and so will likely get some sort of push coming off the back of this.

The refs are named in matches often, we probably just tune it out because who gives a s***?

The reason that referees names are rarely referred to is because they dont need to be unless the occasion calls for it. It's definitely not just news. Look at how often JR used to refer to the referees by name a few years ago and how often he or anybody says them now unless they are involved in an angle.

They definitely did tone it down on the ref names thing, but commentators other than Cole and King still bring it up once in a while.

It's obvious that Brad Maddox is really Mac from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
