There's been a long, noted history of racism towards African Americans males, which included sex, specifically between a black male and a White female in this case. She may not be racist, but to emphasis her saying made it looked very bad on her part. Yeah. She didn't say "ewwww, having sex with Virgil would be gross because Virgil is gross." She said "ewwwww, I don't like chocolate," which sounded like "ewwwww, I would never have sex with an icky black man." That's not really reaching. It would be one thing if she said "not my type" or "I mostly go for..." and described a certain guy. She inferred the idea of having sex with black men is disgusting. Maybe because she thinks it is? I still don't see how that's a racist way of thinking. Yes, perhaps referring to black men as "chocolate" is racist. But I don't see how her thinking having sex with a black man is gross = racism. Not to get into personal views, but I find the thought of two men having sex gross. Therefore, I would not want to participate in such a situation. Does this make me homophobic?

It seems like Sunny is stuck in the Attitude Era just by seeing the shoot preview especially with the chocolate "joke." Just seems like something DX, Shawn and Hunter, would say in late 1997. The sad thing is that those days are long gone even if we see a DX reunion ever so often. Shawn has moved on, become a family man, changed his ways, Hunter had become a corporate guy. Maybe we see something DX related on TV but it's nostalgia not the way they act all the time. And even if they did act like that outside of TV at least they aren't trying to always work fans, as someone suggested wih Sunny, all the time with their high school-like antics. It's too bad for Sunny though she wasn't part of the kliq. In 1997-1998 there was nothing for her, she was doing commentary, announcing, merchandise modeling, minis refereeing, pretty much anything but being involved in a storyline until LOD 2000. Chyna rarely, if ever said anything, for some time with DX. And with Sunny's Attitude Era ways and pesonality she could have had an important role in DX. Maybe keep Chyna for the bodyguard role. Only problem is I don't think even Shawn or Hunter would have been able to stand putting up with her even in an on screen role. I can see them thinking to themselves in 1997, no matter how childlike they acted, "15 years from now we're going to get over this and it's just not going to be funny anymore, but Sunny, she's going to still be acting like this."

And to blatantly say a group of people engaging in a natural act is disgusting is pretty dehumanizing. It's one thing to have a sexual preference and let that be that. Certainly, nobody here thinks you should have to have sex with any person you don't want to. But to openly vocalize "the thought of two men having sex makes me sick," "the thought of a white woman having sex with a black man makes me sick," etc., in such a way as Sunny did in the clip, turns a personal preference into a disrespectful childish bit o' hate.

Racism doesn't apply to sex, it's a bias and that's perfectly fine when it comes to attraction in my opinion. I personally find all types of women beautiful, but I can see how any given person is less attracted or not at all attracted to certain races of people at any given time. It's just a preference. Now if she said something like "I don't date black when because white people are superior" or something to that effect, then I can see your argument.

If she kept her mouth shut about it or even if she said "I've never been attracted to..." that would be one thing, but the childish way in which she said it is what makes it racist.

Are we really getting into a serious verbal debate over the sexual preferences of a wrestling personality who was on the tail end of relevance in 1998?
Who gives a shit if she's racist? Can't we all just agree that she's a moron?

I have to disagree with anyone who said she looked hot. Sunny looked hot in the 90s, but now she does not. Also, when she speaks, it's like listening to a completely different person. She used to have such a energetic, high pitched voice. Now she sounds like old Pam from Accounting (extra points if you get that old FAN reference).

You know it's bad when it looks like everything New Jack said about you is true. What did New Jack say about her that is true.

Her voice isn't as bad as it was back in her WCW stint. It was downright surreal seeing her come out dressed in a gaudy (and not in an ironic way) stripper robe and teasing the audience with a dramatically lower mannish voice. *shivers*

She looks alot better than she did a few years ago when she was like 300 lbs. As for her voice, I know women in their early 30's whose voices have changed like that due to smoking cigarettes since their early teens. Maybe Tammy smoked too.

Not wanting to sleep with a certain race is not racist. I'm not particularly into Muslim women, Does that make me discriminatory against Muslims? No, I just am not attracted to the way they look.
Sunny is probably the same, Probably isn't attracted to black men sexually, nothing racist about it all.

*facepalm*
No one has called Sunny racist for not being attracted to/wanting to sleep with black men. I was the totally unnecessary "Ew" part before saying it that gave people the impression. There was no reason for her to say it, but she did, and it clearly infers she feels something negative about the thought.

I personally wouldn't but a lot of women do and probably some guys as well. If my white friend calls my other white friend "eww" does that mean she's racist towards whites or is that an entirely different story? I'm happy to put Sunny on blast for the things that she's done and how she basically prostitutes herself to indy companies because she can't let go of the fact that 15 years ago she was hot shit in wrestling but let's not play the race card.

Does your white friend say "ew, I don't do vanilla"? Because unless she does, it's not a comparable situation. No one is playing the race card, which strangely has come to mean "mentioning race in anything at all". Some people just choose not to sit around with their fingers in their ears pretending racism doesn't still exist and that Sunny didn't say something racist. Whether or not she's intentionally being racist doesn't really matter.

Me being white I wouldn't really give a shit. As for racism, It exists but that comment wasn't racist.

If Tammy Sytch had been questioned on whether or not she had sex with Raven and she said "Eww I don't do vanilla" would that be racist? Would anyone really care? Me being white I wouldn't really give a s***. As for racism, It exists but that comment wasn't racist. This. Someone points to an attractive dude and asks me "Would you go down on him?" I'd say "Eww, f*** no." Am I a homophobe now? I have more gay friends than I can count and I don't think what they do is disgusting. I would just be grossed out by having to do it myself, because I'm not into dudes and the thought of me, personally, putting my mouth on another dude's privates grosses me out. But I'm not trying to regulate what other people do, nor do I think it's wrong, or even gross, really, if two consenting adults choose to do it. Basically, I'm struggling to see how this Sunny comment is an issue in the least, other than that people are way too sensitive. And okay, let's say people aren't just overanalyzing things and that Sunny was being racist. SO WHAT? Why does ANYBODY care? I mean, seriously, who gives a soaring s*** if she's racist, much less what her sexual preferences are? I don't see any other reason to care other than that this topic has descended into an argument and everyone is trying to prove a point. Can't we talk about any number of ACTUALLY reprehensible things she talked about in the shoot video? Like cheating on her husband repeatedly, and basically being passed around the locker room? Look, If she'd said "Eww" to the idea of being associated with a black person, sure, she's racist then. But I don't get the logical leap from "Ewww, I don't do chocolate" to "Black people are disgusting animals I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole." And even if the logical relation is there, I fail to see how it matters. Sunny has been on the periphery of relevance since before I learned algebra. Nothing she, New Jack, or any of the Hot Mess Collective from wrestling's yesteryear could say would hold much muster with me at all, and I don't know why it would with anyone else. EDIT: I apologize if that sounded confrontational. I'm not meaning to call anyone to the carpet or escalate the issue. If nothing else, I just want the discussion to move past it and get back to Sunny's incrementally ridiculous allegations, which should be ripe for at least a few zesty zingers. Seriously, I expected a couple of one-liners from you guys by now!
