Seriously, why doesn't Lewis Black do more voice acting?

The whole gimmick behind Krang's speech patterns has already gotten old. You've spent that nickel, do something else. Everything else was pretty good, though Michelangelo's voice still bugs me.

They did the 87 splinter origin which bugs for unknown reasons
also they combined the utroms and krang which theyre speech is annoying as hell
mikeys voice is annoying he sounds like a little girl and it doesnt sit with the others
not big on the Splinter design either

Seriously, why doesn't Lewis Black do more voice acting? I love the fact that with this episode they combined everything I loved as a kid with everything I love as an adult. I love the (what seems to be) running gag of Mikey naming all of the mutant villains. "Well his name is Snake and he now he's a weed....", "Well he's a spider and he bites....."

Ok, finally watched the second half of the pilot, I have two observations - 1. It seems like they're giving this version of Donatello '87 Raphael's personality in addition to his scientific skills. Probably makes sense considering they're the same VA. {Spoiler}2. Splinter's supposedly dead daughter - so totally gonna wind up being this show's version of Karai.

".......Rad Brad?"
"Unfriended! Ha ha ha! REVENGE!"
Raph: That wasn't very fair.
Leo: (With a sense of pride in his voice) No it wasn't! (Leo starts laughing while the rest of the Turtles join in)
Kind of funny seeing the heroes of a Saturday morning cartoon taking "the ends justify the means" route.

I thought for sure those guys were going to get mutated and become the new Bebop and Rocksteady. We knew Shredder has a couple of mutants working for him. I don't know if he has them already, or they will be mutated later on.
And this episode reminded me of the Gargoyles episode "The Thrill Of The Hunt", it is pretty much a similar plot with a similar lession. Celebirty or fictional action hero stars are evil.

For some reason my DVR just does not want to work for this show. This time for some reason it believed that Nickelodeon on my cable system was channel "-1", and since that doesn't exist, it just didn't record anything and I didn't realize it until the episode was half over. I had a similar problem with the pilot. The replay is on Thursday though, hopefully I've sorted everything out for then.

I missed last week's episode, but I caught today's, and I'm still enjoying this series.
I was so expecting Chuck Norris to be the voice behind Chris Bradford, considering his designe was most likely inspired from Norris.

I'm finally caught up on the new series, and I must say, I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it. It's certainly not even close to the original series, but it's also not as bad as it could've been.
I would agree with the complaints on the Krang's speech. It gets old really fast.
