So I found a clip on YouTube of the most bizarre WWF skit I've probably ever seen with Sunny having sex with a guy in an Elmo costume. Does anyone know the context to this, did it lead to something? It was the most surreal slice of Vince I've ever seen in any case.

Fondle Me Elmo. I remember seeing this sometime back and I have no idea what the point was of this. I remember someone saying it was Todd Pettingill in the suit.

I actually saw it a few weeks ago and it just popped into my head again but evidently its a victim of Linda's raid. You're probably better off for it.

When Shotgun first started, it had a lot of oddball, edgy stuff. Like this. And Todd Pettengill bumping into homeless Nikolai Volkoff on the street, living in a cardboard box.

A list of things that happened on the second episode of Shotgun Saturday Night:
-The Sunny/Elmo sex tape -Homeless Nikolai Volkoff -Honky Tonk Man singing with Todd Pettengill -The announcement of Goldust's pregnancy and planned birth on the next episode
All in all, that might just be the strangest episode of a TV show WWE has ever produced.

I loved Shotgun Saturday Night in the beginning... felt like their answer to ECW.

God I loved Shotgun. Part of a nice block of wrestling on Saturday nights that included ECW here near Chicago. My favorite Shotgun was the one before the Royal Rumble where Terry Funk took over, demanding to find someone to "rumble" with him. That man ended up being Stone Cold Steve Austin.

They showed that clip on Raw and Smackdown when it was announced Sunny was to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Kind of shocking that there wasn't at least a cease and desist sent to Stamford.

The context was that this was around the time the Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee sex tape leak was huge news, so Sunny wanted to top that by releasing a tape of her own. Um, yeah. Ah, when they'd do PPVs, they'd find a club near the site, and they hit Denim & Diamonds in San Antonio for this one. It was pretty cool to see Terry Funk drop in (he was mainly an ECW wrestler at that point), being as how he lived "near-by". Steve Austin was on commentary when Terry Funk ranted like a nut, cursing on "live TV". (It was live at some markets, came on at 10:30 here in Chicago.) Calling Pettingill's mother a whore and demanding to know where Jim Ross was: "Where are you Jim Ross, you Okie asshole?!" Austin's there, calling Terry crazy and how he needed to get a couple Geritol taps. Then he finally put down his head-set when Terry's pretty much calling him out, "Nope, this ain't the Terry Funk show, hell no!"

The sad thing is that it quickly became a standard C show affair. The WWF had a bad habit of that back then. The Action Zone started out with WWF Title matches main event matches and then within a couple of months there were no storyline implications and it was all squashes and replays from Raw and Superstars.

That was the first and last time they did that, as starting in mid-February, Shotgun matches were taped at Raw. The live, nightclub format was finished after the first 5 or 6 episodes.
