As a character, nobody better. Ever. He is just as responsible as Austin for the Attitude Era getting over -- moreso if you consider that it's his company and he made it all happen. Austin was the perfect foil for him, but also vice versa.
He did it again tonight. Perfectly realistic in the tough-old-bastard mode that he was playing, and his "look at me when I'm talking to you, creep" and "now I'm going to teach you some respect" could not have been delivered with more conviction by anyone.
Props to the old man.

Vince is always entertaining as hell even if the material he's working with is awful.

As I said in the main Raw thread: I really thought he and Punk had a really awesome match, I just really disagree with the booking of it. It's at least nice to know that Vince still has it in him to be a compelling performer to watch.

Vince is just a one of a kind character/person. Mix up what he's willing to do still at his age with a hot crowd, and you had one heck of a little brawl there.

So much better than his beatdown by the Harts. Glad he still has it.
I liked the booking. It was a great bridge to advance the Ryback part of the angle. And I think a Punk-Cena-Ryback triple threat or three-way dance is a good way to get Ryback into the main event scene without putting him in a bad position before he's ready to carry a 30-minute match, if that's how it plays out.

Vince is great but an appearance like this should be saved for more important reasons. This angle with Punk could have continued the exact same way without Vince. They'll get a better rating for hour 3 but next week will be right back down.

Vince took a beating like he'd have taken 13 years ago. He even bled!
He was being dominated until he got the drop, then got a few punches in and some stick hits before taking a bunch of stick hits himself.
People can hate Vince's decisions, his attitude, his thought processes or his booking ability but everyone, everyone should respect his decision to take an arse kicking for his product and to entertain fans.

This is a guy who's willing to bleed buckets and get his ass kicked like no one ever could for the enjoyment of the fans. I can definitely respect that.

I mean, I liked the Voodoo Kin Mafia but I don't think they deserve their own appreciation thread.

Punk is a dastardly heel who didn't want to face his retribution. Vince had the upper hand and Punk used his dirty heel tactics to rip it from Vinces grasp. En route we got a fun Vince beatdown which showed he's still as passionate about the business as ever and can still go if the need calls for it.
I don't get the hate. It made Punk more heelish and gave Ryback a platform to rise on. He put two people over in one night, I'd call that good business.
