I wonder where this little douches parents/guardians were because that was a proper shove that as said could easily have sent Punk flying He made the choice to go into the crowd without security. Pushing, shoving is to be expected. Back in the day, crowds would be much nastier than that. The guy should still be ejected but his actions weren't on the same of turning around blindsided and punching some innocent bystander in the face. If he felt someone spit on his right shoulder would the kid being held up behind him have got a smack in the face too? There's no way he could have know the age or gender of the person behind him, he just swung He made the choice to follow what was booked. He didn't do this on his own.

When I first read the story I thought Punk was well within his rights to take a shot and that it was unfortunate he hit the wrong guy because I believe if you lay an aggressive hand on a wrestler well you run that risk Then I saw the footage and thought Punk was wrong because all I seen was a tap to the head that whilst not justified at all (The guy was a douche) didn't seem to justify the wild swing Punk seemed to take and hit the wrong guy with Now that the guy has apparently admitted to hitting him in the kidneys then I'll go back to my original thought, shame he hit the wrong guy but justified actions if he had got the right guy Think the lessons to be learned are, WWE security needs more training and don't hit a wrestling (You'd think the second one wouldn't need saying but here we are) I don't think it was WWE's security (Do they even have there own security guys?) Rather the Arco Arena security team.

I'm not trying to flame or troll or anything man, but isn't that the same line of thinking that Punk had? Punk got hit several times for no reason and got mad so took a swing, unfortuantley he hit the wrong guy... that was wrong but clearly an accident, does the guy deserve to get compensated? Of course with free tickets, some swag, and a Punk apology... does Punk deserve to get punished, I say no... does that little piece of filth (I apologize if that crosses the lines mod let me know and I will edit it) who struck Punk in the back of the head and kidneys two areas much more sensitive than the cheek or face (not that it really matters but just saying) should be banned from that arena and charges filed for assault especially with him bragging from twitter like he is some kind of tough guy

Sensible statement from WWE I must say. An apology suffices unless the fan in question takes it further, or demands a new pair of sunglasses.

Most of the security is provided by the arena and can be anything from off duty police to 75 year old people that have no clue what they are doing or the show that is happening.

God, how many dumbasses were involved in this? The Mexican Kid who pushed Punk is a DIFFERENT guy on Twitter. There's White Shirt Douche who framed Sunglasses Guy. And now apparently there's Swagger Bro who kidney punched Punk, that appears to be not shown on camera.
Imagine being in Punk's...erm...kickpads. You're getting pushed around by a bunch of unapologetic fans old enough to know better. He apparently got kidney punched, and then he gets pushed into and hit in the back of the head by some guy, who frames Sunglasses Guy, and Punk thinks it's him who is also screwing with him, when he was the only innocent one in the bunch.

I remember at an indy show I was at here in my hometown and one of the matches was going through the crowd, normally there isn't an issue but this time a guy pushed the heel from behind then threw a drink over him. The heel turned around and looked like he threw a good couple of shots in that looked like they could have hurt
The next day people were talking about it on Facebook and the guy posted, said that the heel pulled his punches at the last seconds (Pulled his punches like a pro I think was how he put it), apologized, admitted he had the fear put into him and said it would never happen again
Not trying to say anything about what Punk should or shouldn't have done lol, just came to mind when I heard about this story and wanted to share ha

But he was wrong, and he was pretty aggressive up there. www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_548022&feature=iv&src_vid=xliCPYdQ28I&v=2mar3twflmg

Okay thats what I figured. Plus WWE hiring a trained traveling security team that can cover the entire arena sounds expensive.

And looking at the video, not sure who bumped him. It might have been a little kid that was near sunglasses man.

Has anyone on here really ever been slapped in the back of the head, and NOT done anything about it? That shit A. hurts and B. is completely disrespectful. It's unreasonable to expect Punk not to react. He's not a robot. Some of you seem to live in the world where emotions don't exist, only corporate logic and levelheadedness prevail. It's a damming piece of footage in gif form, but if you watch the video and get the whole picture, Punk's reaction is justified. He was getting messed with from all directions, and nearly got pushed down those steep concrete steps.

Hope the douchebag fan who hit Punk and is bragging about gets banged up in the nick. What a knobhead.
Saying that, and I mentioned this in the other thread, Punk was entirely in the wrong. He lashed out, hit the wrong man and could easily have injured him, there were kids nearby who could have got hurt and he's lucky the man or his friends didn't retaliate or things could have gotten nasty. Really, Punk's ass should be out the door considering the WWE's past reasons for firing people.
I'm shocked people are still defending Punk here... he reacted wrong and assaulted an innocent person.

Hopefully the accusing fan will have some kind of "slap on the wrist" consequence, because while the WWE and the arena are at some fault for what happened, that fan is also at fault. You don't go on twitter and say OMGGGG DID YOU SEE WHEN PUNK GOT HIT IN THE CROWD?!?! THAT WAS ME!! I can't feel bad for someone that brags about hitting/possibly injuring someone, regardless of their size or gender.

After reading that tweet, isn't it a shame Punk didn't get the right target? And hit harder? =P
What kind of pussy thing is that to brag about. "I pushed someone and then I hid!"

I turned around and yelled at them, and told their parents when the got back. I didn't just randomly start throwing elbows.
