Seems evident that WWE is taking the stance I suspected they would: security should've been there, CM Punk will make a private apology, and leaving it at that.

Firing? LOL, you do realize that a backup dancer got busted for blowing twice over the legal limit and she's still backup dancing, right? Totally plausible she could have killed someone.

I have to say, pretty bad mistake from the guy on Twitter if "nobody can catch him". Rookie mistake.
However, looking at the guy, he looks like one overzealous arsehole to begin with. I am in no way condoning what Punk did but this Dario guy deserves to get some punishment for his part in it. If true, he's as liable as Punk is.

Man, I wish Punk had decked the right guy. He comes off like a complete turd.
That said, the fan that actually did get hit deserves something. Lifetime tickets to WWE shows, money, etc. He deserves something for getting smacked in the face because somebody close to him was acting like an asshole.

Who's at fault 3 people I think: Punk for obvious reasons, security for not making a clear path for Punk in the crowd and allowing fans to get that close to him since he stupidly turned heel, the fan to touched him. I feel feel for that fan who got the punch.I don't. Not really anyway. He's about to be compensated way more than what the incident calls for.

Late to the party, but he over reacted. Oh well. Punker can get a lecture and maybe calm down.

I'm shocked people are still defending Punk here... he reacted wrong and assaulted an innocent person. No one's disputing that.

Said it before in the last thread, the security team deserves to be fired above anyone else. The Maloofs are the slumlords that own the Kings and run Arco Arena so I hope these douchebags are held accountable for not providing enough security. I was at Raw and I did notice there was less arena security last night than usual and I've attended dozens of events at the old barn.

Somehow I totally missed this thread...I must get my eyes checked again Either way my wish for this whole incident is simple. Punk should be told he has to start being more tolerant of the fanbase if he wants to be WWE champion for now or any time thereafter. The fan's should be given notice at the start of every event that the superstars should be interacted with, there should be no aggressive behaviour towards them. Now I know that could take the wind out of a hot crowd, so the other solution would be to end all in-crowd spots. The fan should be compensated with Rumble or Mania tickets, plus a bit of merch and a written apology from WWE signed by Punk. Nothing more needs to be said. Oh yes sorry one more thing. The security guys need to be given small cue cards about where they should be and when.

CM Punk doesn't deserve face any repercussions, and the fan who was wrongfully hit should just get an apology, and maybe a t-shirt and tickets to the next local show. It's not like seriously injured the guy.

My initial reaction without seeing the video was that this guy was just like the multitude of others who cry because they can't abuse a performer without repercussions, but watching the video I would agree this guy was slapped undeservedly and deserves some kind of payment, be it free swag or a small chunk of change. It didn't even look like the guy was standing proportionately to where the shoves were coming from.

Anyone post this yet? SUNGLASSES SPEAKS! Seems like a decent dude. The problem with his Artest analogy is that Artest purposefully went into the crowd to attack fans. CM Punk did not. Sent from my HTC ONE S using proboards.

My selfish take:
If this kills "entering/exiting through the crowd" I'm going to be hella pissed.

Punk was obviously in the wrong for hitting the guy, but both sides are overreacting to this incident. He didn't land deadly strikes on the fan or anything. He hit his arm when he swung around and then pushed him down. Hardly a big deal.
Does the fan deserve compensation? Yes, but isn't it a bit funny he said he had no injuries when he left the arena and then called authorities later with a magical knee injury?
