Clearly it was Larry King that drew people in. "Hey kids did you here who is going to be on Raw this week?" "John Cena?" "Well, yes...and LARRY KING!!!"

2.8 is a good start. But they really need to be aiming for over 3.0 at the moment.
Hell Rock is back in the states this coming week...throw some money at him to show up here and there.

Too bad it's not a "start" but instead the occasional "special attraction" that diverts the program from it's stale and predctable PG pace that people have become bored with.

Well people tune in for potential car wrecks. Maybe next week will get a boost wondering if there will be a fallout for Punk not letting that guy "deal with it".

We're calling 2.8 a good number now? Dark times.

Hasn't it been typical the past three years for October ratings to dip into the 2s? Then factoring in the ratings are now to be compared to rerun + Raws from the past, in the key demographics, they're probably happy it's on an uptick.

October ratings: 2007: 3.2, 2.8, 3.3, 3.3, 3.5 (Average - 3.2) 2008: 3, 3.1, 2.9, 2.9 (Average - 3.0) 2009: 3.3, 3.4, 3.3, 3.7 (Average - 3.4) 2010: 3.4, 2.9, 3.1, 3.1 (Average - 3.1) 2011: 3.1, 3.3, 3.1, 3.3, 3.1 (Average - 3.2) 2012 (So far): 2.5, 2.8 (Average - 2.7) That 2.5 is the lowest October rating they've had since October 27, 1997 (Which was a 2.3). Those 3 hours are really taking a toll

Those 3 hours are really taking a toll To get the best, direct picture of comparison between this year and recent previous years you'd need the data for the 8pm rerun and have it weighted for the important demographics. At this point, with the 3hr Raws, it's very difficult for us to derive what the significance of the rating is for WWE/USA, because they must have known expanding to 3 hours would have entailed a loss of net viewers from the 2hr Raw.

Maybe it's just since I haven't been watching, but I can't fathom trying to sit through three hours of Raw every single week. The occasional ones were bad enough, and even two hours usually dragged on for far too long.
