I thought the idea was much more interesting with Ock not being redeemed. Have the hero community gradually realizing something is off, then totally wrong with Spidey while Parker's soul/spirit ventures through the various Marvel spirit realms trying to get back to reclaim his body.
But yeah, the story of Ock trying to redeem himself with Peter's blessing? Bleh.

But yeah, the story of Ock trying to redeem himself with Peter's blessing? Bleh. But the premise of "something being wrong" will run out someday; and soon, because it's dumb to just drag it out longer than it should. At least with this premise, it presents the possibility that it's permanent. An ongoing series based on a finite concept - especially when it's the primary Spider-Man series - makes a publisher look stupid.
