this thread is for sad pictures not hilarious ones. In all fairness, this looks like Virgil is sitting at his table before any of the fans were permitted to enter the building. Theres not even people walking past him..

I honestly didn't recognize him...for your condescending information. If you want to take it as condescending that's on you. What I meant was it makes me sad that a man like Heenan is reaching the area of forgotten people. I bet none of today's kids know who he is, and that's what makes me sad. Not to bust your chops or anything, but it happens. If someone is before our time, chances that someone recognizes them is going to be slim even if the person was of great relevance at one point. Be honest, there are probably allot more great wrestlers/managers before your time that you don't know of because they were before your time. All I'm saying is that it happens and that there's no need to get too worked up about it. Some know who Heenan is, some don't.

To be fair, Bobby the Brain is still at full mental capacity. He's still got his wit, his charm, still has everything that makes him who he is. He goes to those events, still can make money, he goes with his wife, and he can't really talk, but he can still communicate. I think there was a video where his wife said, yes, despite his appearance, he's still the exact same person. On the DVD that came out of Bobby last year, they kinda made it look like he had already passed on. Roger Ebert went through almost the same thing, and as you see on his Twitter, his mind is far from gone. I wish Bobby had a Twitter or Facebook. Some way to communicate his thoughts to the fans.

I think we can blame most of that on the facepaint.

When they brought back Freddie Blassie for a few segments before he died. I knew who he was but being before my time I didn't get his significance. Seeing someone who was a huge part of my childhood fandom being slowly forgotten reminds me that I'm getting older and the guys I used to get excited to see are either dead, dieing, forgotten about or just shells of their former selves. That's what saddens me. I wish there was a way to highlight the careers of the stars gone past but outside of HOF and Vintage WWE there doesn't seem to be much interest in the topic.

Ouch. Saw him live at WM15... unfortunately, the drunken frat boy sitting next to me thought it was hilarious that "someone let all the air out of Gorilla."

This. He was my favorite wrestler growing up and it's heartbreaking to see what happened. And here's a double dose of sadness.
