Considering the fact that they actually give a crap about Dragons, seeing as the animation is far superior to Penguins and they shelled out the cash for Baruchel, Mintz-Plasse, Ferrera etc., I understand them wanting to support it as much as they can.

Quick question - How are the ratings for Riders of Berk? The reason I ask is the only way I can figure for the change over is they're trying to give Riders of Berk some prime Saturday morning kid viewers. The opposite of that could be DC nation isn't pulling in the ratings they desired either. Don't follow the numbers but on other boards with members who have, they aren't bad for either. It might not be related anyway since the Dragons episodes aired, at least, this weekend are reruns.

Kinda surprised that it's on CN as opposed to Nickelodeon, where the other Dreamworks movie-to-animated-series adaptations have traditionally aired.

Newest theory regards the use of Milestone characters Icon, Rocket and speculated Static. About 2 weeks ago at the Las Vegas Con, Titans writer Scott Lobdell was asked about Static joining the title and he said he'd love to have him but legal issues prevent it. Static was a member of the Titans years ago but that was before creator Dwayne McDuffie's death. This might explain the sudden removal of Young Justice from the schedule but not Green Lantern series as it doesn't feature any Milestone characters. The only explanation for that would be they don't want new episodes aired solo.

They aren't buying the toys because they are awful.
Mattel seems to think it is acceptable to use action figure sculpting and articulation that would have been mediocre in 2001 is acceptable nowadays. Look at the atrocious Dark Knight Rises toys, where the Movie Masters line is the only remotely decent representation of Batman.
If you offered a kid or a collector a choice between a glorified statue from the Young Justice line and a Hasbro-made Marvel toy, with knees, elbows, wrists and ankles, maybe bicep and thigh cuts for even more articulation for play and dynamic poses, the choice is not a hard one. Mattel is squandering their licenses.

The opposite of that could be DC nation isn't pulling in the ratings they desired either. The premieres of Riders of Berk, which air on Wednesday nights, are consistently #1 of all shows in the kids 2-11, boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 demographics for that time period, so...

To say I was not pleased to play Green Lantern from my DVR, and some dragon show played instead, is a bit of an understatement.

1. The rights issue with Milestone shouldn't affect Young Justice at all since they would have secured the rights to use those characters while the episodes were in production and nothing can change that. Episode 46 was in production back in April. 2. Nobody is buying their toys because the Young Justice toy line was cancelled back in April and there is no Green Lantern: TAS toy line. Also, Mattel blamed CN giving Young Justice long hiatuses as the reason for poor sales back when there was a toy line. 3. That's a possible explanation. 4. I doubt it as they have a contract for DC Nation for 3 years but CN could probably get out of it if ratings were poor enough.

They would have secured rights over 10 years ago when Static Shock was in production for Kids WB but now he can't be used in Teen Titans 52. I don't know if it's true but something had to have change for there to be "legal issues" stopping him from joining.

I hope they get this situation settled because I want to see Young Justice again. I'm afraid I'm will not be able to get back into the show again because of the wait because I missed the new episodes out of habit.

And hell, even the worst of the Hasbro/Marvel toylines, those being the tie-in lines to Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man are much more articulated than Mattel's crap, despite not being as moveable as other Hasbro action figures.
