What the hell else was Bonnar going to do? He was going to engage him one way or the other.

I'm still trying to figure out why Bonnar's game plan from the beginning seemed to be getting a take down. Did he want to Sonnen up Silva for a round or two? Did he suddenly think he had great wrestling ability that could keep down the abilities of Silva? So odd. All it takes to beat Silva is a good wrestler with decent ground and pound. Weidman, Munoz, Evans, anyone of them could take him.

I still think it was inexcuseable for the ref not to have stopped that Glover/Fabio fight when Fabio started wobbling on his feet at the end. What the hell was he thinking?! His corner shouldn't get off easy either...they should have thrown the towel in. Allowing a slaughter like this to keep going is bad for the sport.
What was with all the booing from the crowd tonight too? The card was very rarely dull.

Press Conference Notes:
-- Fight of the Night: Jon Fitch v. Erick Silva -- Dana babbled about the greatness of Anderson Silva -- Dana said there is no way they cut Fabio Maldonado after tonight -- Jon Fitch looks at this as a restart to his career. Huge deal with the money as well -- Anderson Silva says Chris Weidman still has a lot to do in the UFC. -- Silva has 2 fights left on his contract, one probably against GSP -- Dana White says "The amount of money offered for [Silva v. Jones], I guarantee you I’ll make [Silva] say, 'yes yes yes.' -- Dana White says they will be talking to Eddie Alvarez soon

It's still going on, but I'm heading to bed.
Edit: Knockout of the Night: Rony Jason Submission of the Night: Big Nog

Predictable main event aside, I thought this was really a good show for action. The only main card fight that went to decision was the most back-and-forth fight of the night (at least until round 3), and apart from a brief period during Herman-Nog, every fight was nonstop activity.

I forget which fight it was, but one of the American fighters punched the hell out the the back of the head of one of the brazillian fighters on the ground, and the crowd did not like it.

I didn't realize Silva only had two fights left on his contract. Considering the name value alone he has surely they will get him to resign?
Can't wait to watch this, it sounds like a good show. Which was needed considering how the last few months have been for the company

Yeah, I remember this too. Might have been the Davis or Fitch fights. It was a blatant miss.

I'm still shocked from Jon Fitch being locked in a Rear Naked Choke and essentially powering out of it. Grab a hand, pull it down. Grab the arm wrapped around your neck, pull it away. Turn. Somehow lock a freaking armbar on to end the round.

Not entirely sure, but the Silva/Fitch fight might be my all-time favorite. The event as a whole was great with the main event being the only glaring disappointment.

He almost looks bored in there sometimes.

He almost looks bored in there sometimes. Outside of Chael "Jiu Jitsu is Gay" Sonnen, he hasn't fought any freestyle wrestlers (Okami and Hendo are Greco). And he has shown extreme weakness to wrestling. It's why GSP or Jones would destroy him.
