If he doesn't care that he can't use the Edge name anymore why should I? The business needs more guys like Edge, do as much as you possibly can and get out when it's time. It's really not worth it to cripple yourself for ungrateful fans that think that you owe them anyways. I think Edge would still wrestle now, if he didn't get the bad news about his neck.

one of these days we'll have a Cage family reunion. Christian Cage, Edgeward Cage, Mama and Papa Cage, Uncle Jimmy-jack Cage and the cousin they all try to ignore, Nic. How could you forget Grandma Edna Cage?

It's not like he on bad terms with the WWE. So anytime they want Adam to be Edge on there show, I'm sure he's a phone call away. I thought his contract deal was done with a while ago. But still can make an appearances if he wanted too in the WWE.
I'm glad what he done for us as a wrestler and I'm glad he happy and healthy at what he doing now in life.

All of the dirtsheet rumors about him being on bad terms with WWE were just that--rumors. It goes to show you that you can't believe everything that's reported, even if it's by Meltzer. I always thought it was strange because Edge had made it abundantly clear that he had no interest in continuing a long term role with WWE after he retired and wanted to focus on his new career/life. He said it numerous times in interviews, and yet fans were clamoring to support the claim that WWE insulted him/they had a fight/offer turned down etc... He's been backstage to support his auditioning protege, talk to friends, do segments to help out ratings, etc... I think he's at peace with his new life.

Still cannot understand how fans turned on Edge and The Rock. They achieved everything possible as a wrestler and they left the WWE at the right time.
Yes, Dwayne came back on a limtied schedule when he was asked and Adam still is a part of the wrestling scene in a limited capacity due to his spine issues.
People should be happy that they put in their time, gave the fans some great wrestling highlights, and support them in their future entertainment projects.

I don't get what McMahon thinks he can gain from it. A guy works for you for years, ends up nearly crippling himself and you don't even permit him use of the name he used during this period. I do not see what financial benefit there is for McMahon not to allow him to use the name. It's not as if he'll be losing money if Edge makes a personal appearance at some book signing in Orange County. Is it? WWE can't reuse the name again unless they want to bring out a DVD. But even so Edge using the name outside of the business would make absolutely no difference to that whatsoever. It just seems unnecessarily mean to be honest. Especially as the guy is unlikely to ever work again. Allow him to use his damn name to get some name recognition in the other areas of life he wishes to make money in. I think it's all a negotiation thing. Vince wanted to bully Edge into signing a legends deal or what have you, and made it so "if you don't sign, you don't get the name". And Edge said "okay, I don't need the name, I'm not wrestling anymore and I'm a wealthy mountainman who occasionally comes down and shaves to do some mediocre acting. but thank you, Vince, thank you anyway." That is exactly how the conversation went, I recorded the conversation with a device implanted in a wooden mallard.

He's still listed as "WWE Superstar Edge" on Haven, which has always looked weird. I'm guessing that'll change some time soon if this is the case.

LOL.
Nothing against Copeland, I've always liked him, I just think it's funny that Vince owns EDGE. Like really, what is he going to do with it?
Aw well, I hope his acting career does well.

Maybe stop some sleazy indy promoter from filching off a character he created? Let's say a new promotion called Action, Not Talk! (ANT) popped up. And suppose this promotion put up fliers that said "COME SEE 'THE RATED-R SUPERSTAR' EDGE! THIS FRIDAY AT RIVERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL! BELL-TIME 7:30" So now it's show time. "Metallingus" hits, crowd goes nuts and out comes ... a guy dressed as Edge?! Same outfit, same mannerisms, pretty much a carbon copy. This company deceived people into thinking a famous WWE star would show up and is making money off someone else's creation. I'm sure Copeland doesn't care, but he can't call himself "The Rated-R Superstar" either--WWE has that trademarked.

The only thing this prevents is if Adam Copeland were to make an indie/convention appearance, he couldn't use the Edge name.
