Over 86,000 raised so far. Making this the 2nd highest MM
Going into it Couch Guy said he would have been happy with 3/4 of what MM 4 made. We are over that mark

$94,375.00 is what we're at now. They have 3 levels left, and donations still keep pouring in!

One of my favorite times of the year. I've been watching since MM 3. Over 96,000 right now. I'll probably get my donation in before I head to work. Hopefully when I get off tonight they'll still be playing.

They've been a couple levels away for awhile, I think someone said they're gonna just beat Galaxy 2 and Sunshine all the way through then call it done. They were talking earlier about adding Yoshi's Island next year since they got through the games way quicker than they have in years past. One of my favorite times of the year. You might want to do that soon. They muted the mics so they can run the vacuum and clean up, and then they're going to finish the current level and go off-air. I think they might still take donations a little after it's over, they've always adjusted the final total for late donations and any donations that bounce.

I was wrong with my previous post about them being almost done. They said they'd 100% either Galaxy 2 or Sunshine if they hit $10,000 before the start, which they did. So they're 100%ing Sunshine (which they still have about 10 or so stars left...and those are far from easy so it might be awhile) then will do whatever stars the donations have reached for Galaxy 2. Sweet They haven't made the big hooplah they did for year 2 and 3 where he insisted they weren't doing another (then did). Last year was the first time they ever outright said they were doing it again the next year. I just remember people on Twitter making a big stir about that. Even if they don't do Yoshi's Island, they would pretty much have to add New SMB-U. They always make it a note to do ALL the main Mario games, so I can't imagine they'd just skip that.

I mean they have far exeded what they were expetcing this year, so I think they will continue. The only thing that would stop them was the people in the middle of the night who were yelling at them for going split screen and it was obvious they were getting a little peeved.

Was just watching it and they dropped mention of this being the last one. Mac Guy said "Let's finish MM5 before we discuss another one, cause I got a feeling this might be the last one". Which was interrupted by OSG with "Just like MM2."

Pretty much. IIRC MM1 was just gonna be a one-time thing at first.
They said the same thing during MM2 they are about this one, where they "think this is the last one". At the end of MM3 before they closed down after hitting a glitch in Sunshine and calling it done (it was their final star), Brian spoke for about 15-20 minutes thanking everyone involved and said that while it wasn't the last Child's Play charity activity they'd do that it was 'definitely the final Mario Marathon".
4 was the only one they openly acknowledged at the end they were doing another one.

I think it drags on them. But once they relax after the event they notice it was not that bad and know how much they helped, so then they do it again. I mean lets be honest, they have been going for over 100 hours, they are sick of Mario at this time.

I mean lets be honest, they have been going for over 100 hours, they are sick of Mario at this time. I think I could get away with it if Sunshine wasn't at the end. That game has earned every iota of it's rep as the worst primary Mario game. If I started off with that I could play through the rest, no sweat. Me and my friends the other day were talking a "what if" about doing a Sonic marathon the same way and what each person would play. We kept discussing who would play Sonic 06 and Unleashed, should we decide to include those, or if we'd put Sonic 06 at the end of the donation line as one of the tougher to earn games. Of course, once they'd raise the money we'd be screwed. Then we discussed who would do Sonic 1, that's the only one I cannot beat on a regular basis. If I practiced up I could beat Sonic 2 on the first go, and from there on I could lick the whole series. 3, Knuckles, Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Generations, no problem. I haven't played Colors, and I would try to make the argument that Shadow isn't a main Sonic game (especially with the multiple routes, it would take a lot of work to manage how donations would work with those...and with it having autosave if we failed to get on the right story path in a level we'd be screwed).

Man, just a thousand dollars short of breaking last year's total. That actually kinda makes me a little sad.
