Sorry for the lateness of my post. Things ran really late for me today. Some observations I made while rereading the thread today: - People outing themselves as characters (Waffel, Mason). Doesn't sit well with me because IF the write ups reveal which characters have abilities, this will either expose them for the mafia or narrow down the choices for a mafia night kill, giving them greater odds of hitting a town power role. Granted, if the write ups do not reveal which characters have power roles, then this is a moot point. Regardless, I'm generally not a fan of outing which character you are unless it will prevent the lynching of an innocent townie.
- M jumped onto Waffel pretty quickly when he outed himself as Hogan.
First, Waffel posted this:
Let me tell you something Mean Gene Macho Dude. Even if they offered that belt to me, I'd never buy it! I'd earn it the old fashioned way by saying my prayers and eating my vitamins!
MAFIA! WHATCHA GONNA DO? WHEN THE 24 INCH PYTHONS RUN WILD ON YOU BROTHER?
Then M immediately followed with this post:
I wouldn't rule out Hogan. And if Waffel outed himself as Hogan... We may have our first suspect...
We were still in joke vote phase and M offered up Hogan as our first suspect. I'm thinking M was just trying to offer theories as to who might be mafia. That being said, it is something to keep in mind.
- Bergman's very detailed Mafia list and possible attempt to out power roles.
Starts with his post here:
If I had to guess based on character we're looking at a mafia of... 1 rocker, probably Shawn (goon) Jake (probably a poisoner) Andre (hitman) Ted D (Godfather)
Zack Morris then mentions how specific his list is and Bergman replies with this (bold emphasis mine):
Just looking at it logically. Snake venom makes sense for a poisoner. I'm betting that Marty and Shawn are obviously connected in some way so a town/maf split there. Andre was booked as an indestructible force so him being a hitman/hired gun for a godfather in DiBiase makes sense. I also think Slick may be a priest, which kinda makes sense and Duggan is vanilla with no role, he's the guy that doesn't really fit in. HTM is interesting too, possible 3rd party?
Might also be a connection between the Mega Powers.
That, to me, is speculation on who the power roles might be. It could be used to spur discussion as to who might have those powers and make it easier for the Mafia to take them out. Also, I think that is a distraction from the town's main goal, which is to lynch scum.
- Antihero's vote on Mr. B Natural.
Seemed to be unnecessary and based on false logic. Antihero claimed that B Natural was shifting blame away from himself, when that clearly wasn't the case. However, seeing as this is Antihero's first game, I'm going to conclude that it's likely the overreaction of a new townie than Mafia trying to make a target out of B Natural.
Thought this might help with the discussion for today.

I will place my vote tomorrow, as I won't be around Friday.
Not sure who to vote for, it's anyones game right now.
I still say we lynch, though.

Well, I guess I've been quiet for long enough.
You'll got me, I overplayed my hand from the outset and now I guess I'm going to live with it. I was just trying to help but I'm the most suspicious person out there so I throw myself on the mercy of the group to be lynched if need be.
You'd be taking down a townie if you vote me, but I understand that I will probably pay for my overplaying.

Bergman, you won't be lynched. It happens, and everyone does that. Remember how I just jumped on in and gave too much without thinking in True blood? I got shot down immediately and was immediately suspicious. I would feel more comfortable voting for lodi.

Right now i'm not 100% convinced anyone is Mafia but these 2 stand out most to me and are most suspicious to me:
Lodi- his jumping on me for offering theories is very suspicious, even though he did back off. Overzealous Mafia or townie trying too hard?
Bergman: i'm very torn on him right now. While initially I thought he might be fishing for power roles, i'm not as sure anymore. His latest post admitting defeat with only 1 vote doesn't sit right with me either so i'm very confused about him.
Not going to place a vote yet. I need more time to think about it and reread the thread one more time to see if anything else catches my eye. At work atm but will cast my vote sometime today/tonight. Before then, can the following two people answer these questions:
Bergman: which players are you most suspicious of and why? Which players would you think are most likely town?
Lodi: What was your reasoning for your suspicions? In what way did you feel I was distracting the town?
I'm still open to all other theories so if anyone has any other suspects they'd like to discuss please tell us. I'm liking the discussion and participation we've got going. Let's keep it up town :-)

I just want to comment on one thing Produceman said
Just want to say the write ups will NOT reveal any character roles the only thing the write up will reveal is who the mafia killed but I wont reveal who the mafia member who does the kill so the only thing revealed during the night write up will be the person who gets killed and what their role is, no other power role will be revealed during the write up and if something happens were a kill did not happen not much will be revealed only the kill was prevented and maybe a little scene with Gorilla Monsoon to start off the day phase.
I don't mind people talking in character I think it adds a lot to the discussion which is why I revealed all the characters in the game from the get go so everybody can feel comfortable revealing who their character is. Character claim I don't mind Role claiming I would have more of a problem with this early in the game.
I know I should stay quiet but I felt it was important to let you all know what will be revealed during the write ups.

After a lot of thought I've had to decide between Bergman and Lodi. While both have been suspicious, neither is 100% scummy in my eyes. Day 1 is almost always a crap shoot, yet I try to make the most informed decision I can. Long story short, i'm going to have to
Vote: Lodi
Stifling meaningful discussion and accusing me of trying to distract the town when i'm clearly trying to help doesn't sit right with me.
I'd still like Bergman and Lodi to answer my questions

No clue on who to expect right now and who is town. Too early to say. I'll learn a lot from the night actions and the like... perhaps who to target. All we can do is hope that the mafia takes it easy on us, but I'm willing to doubt that. I still stand by what I've said so far though, if I'm the best option I openly invite a lynch on me... could save the town in the long run.

Vote: Lodirulz
Have been suspicious of him from the beginning. Zach Morris' recent post made almost made me suspicious but it just looks like a sassy post trying to prove a point to J.

I was wondering what the point of Zach's post was. Why vote on someone and say your vote doesn't matter? Of course it matters. Our vote is our only weapon. We have to use it wisely.

So if I'm counting right that's:
One vote on Bergman (Mine) Three votes on Lodi (Produceman, Mason and Jono) And one (I think just to prove a point) vote on J (Zack Morris is Insane)
Everyone else isn't voting.

That's 4 on Lodi. Deadline tonight at 11 EST.
3 more and Lodi is lynched.
Come to think of it, has Lodi really done anything in this game so far? Think I might swap my vote to him for the good of the town.
