The match has been announced the World Champion will be one of these men: Main Event 8 Wrestler Elmination Match to crown a NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion Chance Prophet - NWA Ring Warriors Bahamas Champion vs Lance Erickson - NWA Mountain State Champion vs Damien Wayne - NWA DAWG Champion vs Jason "The Gift" Kincaid - NWA Smoky Mountain Champion vs Anthony Nese - Former TNA Impact Superstar (Ranked #291 in the 2012 PWI 500 ) vs The "Greek God" Papadon (Ranked #223 in the 2012 PWI 500) vs The "Phat Daddy" Biggie Biggs (Ranked #404 in the 2012 PWI 500) vs 3rd Generation Superstar Lance Anoa'i (Ranked #497 in the 2012 PWI 500) 8 Wrestlers, 7 Eliminations 1 Winner As serious wrestling fans who on this board has heard of more than 3 of these guys? I'm familiar with Damien Wayne, Papadon, Jason Kincaid, and Tony Nese. I thought Biggie Biggs retired. The best bet out of all of them is Nese.

Perhaps one of those eight could be the next Ric Flair.
Really hope it is "Son of Batman" Damien Wayne

congratulations, NWA. you really f****d up on this one It wasn't like the current NWA was filled with the cream of the crop. Your bigger name indy talents are connected to bigger, more viable groups.

They have Lance Hoyt working in an NWA Texas group, Surely he'd be a better choice than all of these? I think Brent Albright still wrestles for an NWA brand too as does Ricky Morton.

Next champ will be either Colt Cabana or Adam Pearce in a mask These guys don't work here!!!!!!! Perhaps one of those eight could be the next Ric Flair. Really hope it is "Son of Batman" Damien Wayne I would assume the last scion of Wayne Industries/The Wayne Foundation would be a "limousine riding, jet flying, wheeling, dealing, kiss stealing son of a gun!"

Okay, so they have 8 guys working a Championship match in Podunk, NJ. How many of those 8 are actually getting paid, and what are they getting?

The NWA Title might have met it's final nail.

The NWA Title might have met it's final nail. Sad thing is its getting hammered in from inside the coffin. Colt and Pearce did a LOT of work to bring some importance back to this title. If they just wanted to have a series of matches, they would have just done a best of 7 at NWA Hollywood. But they didn't. They brought their feud out to places that haven't seen a world title match in years, possibly decades, and have it culminate in Australia, which I don't think has EVER hosted an NWA title defense. And what does the new admInistration do? Pulls the rug out from under them and screws up the blow off to a feud that has been going on for over half the year. And, for those of you saying Pearce is a belt mark or whatever the f*** that means, without going into detail, I've seen the man get furious over a booking decision that made him look like too strong of a champion when he was a heel. I've met the man numerous times, and while I wouldn't call myself a friend, I do know that that man lives, breathes and bleeds this sport, and is one of the classiest and most giving individuals I've had the honor of encountering in my life, not just the business. Tl;dr the NWA had some major heat going with the Pearce/Cabana feud, and Marquez' NWA Hollywood. The new owner has alienated all three of them in the span of a month. Do when some guy who no ones heard of is your next world champ, you have no one to blame but yourself. To paraphrase Vince: "They didn't screw the NWA, the NWA screwed the NWA."

I still don't see how "bouncing the title back and forth so that both guys can pad their reign lengths" amounts to "bringing importance back to the belt", but whatever....

I still don't see how "bouncing the title back and forth so that both guys can pad their reign lengths" amounts to "bringing importance back to the belt", but whatever.... The title changed hands once during the series. It was obvious Colt was going to wind up with the title, and, as I said, of it was just a best of 7, with Colt winning in the end, it would have just happened at NWA Hollywood. But, as I pointed out, most of these matches happened in territories that haven't seen an NWA title match in years, if not ever. So, tell me, if you live in one of those markets, and the NWA champ and his most hated rival are headlining the show, but there was no chance of the title changing hands, would you still be as psyched about it? Like it or not, there was a logical, business savvy reason for having every match in 7 Levels of Hate be a title match, much more of a reason than "To pad out their title reigns."

I can admit that Pearce being NWA Champion is a much better choice than anyone competing for it on the 2nd.
I wasn't a fan of Pearce and his 1000+ days as champion but compared to the possibility of one of these indy guys winning it I would much prefer Pearce.
At least with Pearce you have a guy who is indy but worked the top indies. It's not strange to see him defending the title against an ex WWE guy and he go with basically any wrestler. If we see Damien Wayne Vs Rhyno at a card it's such a mismatch that it makes me sad.
This is probably the darkest moment of the NWA ever. With the late 90's and early 2000's being seen as the worst before this at least they had the belt on popular indy talent back then (Sabu, Corino, Hashimoto and Severn)

I don't really understand the NWA at all.
Why would they NOT want Colt Cabana to be their World Champion?

Hoyt's too busy being IWGP Tag-Team champion. Which means (and pays) a whole lot more than being NWA World Heavyweight Champion these days.
