It's long been said that Vince McMahon is not too fond of pushing wrestlers or ideas that weren't developed by his company. And it's often said that because of his pride, he's passing up a bunch of opportunities, so I'm wondering what some of those opportunities are. The first thing that's always come to my mind has been War Games, but McMahon instead went ahead and turned it into the elimination chamber (even Bischoff said the chamer incorporated aspects of War Games when it first appeared). I'm almost tempted to believe that another World War III could work, if not for the fun of seeing all 60 entrants introduced at the beginning. That was half the fun.

War Games
It would have been great to see the conclusion of the failed WCW/WWF invasion angle to end in a 5 on 5 War Games match... but alas.
THe Raw/Smackdown Survivor Series match should be in War Games, but with a WWE twist... perhaps inside the Hell in a Cell cage?

Gone over this many a time, but WCW had plenty of interesting gimmick matches and themed shows.
Halloween Havoc Hog/Road Wild Nitro in Panama City (ring on the pool) War Games World War 3 Triple Tier Cage Lethal Lottery The list goes on... but those are the ones that I think would have the easiest transition into WWE.

This isn't exactly a WCW thing, but the pool reminded me of it: I wish WWE did more outside shows. I don't know, but whenever a show is light by natural sunlight it makes me happy, despite the crap.
See Wrestlemania IX as a great example. Probably the worst WM, but one of my favorite arenas.

I always like the spring break nitros, it was unique, a break from the arena after after shows, and a chance for some comedy thrown in.
I don't know how road/hog wild would work. They'd have to figure out a way to actually have people pay to be in the crowd for it, and how would that figure in with the motorcycles and all. It's the same as bash at the beach 95', just walk up and watch.
That said, if they could figure that out, it would be fun, because like gshman, outside shows can be fun. like the orlando nitros from 96's. It's unique and a break everyonce in awhile.

World War 3 matches were the biggest mess and pile of crap ever.60 wrestlers,6 commentators,3 rings, camera shots of all 3 rings at once.........of all gimmicked matches this has to be the biggest copy I can think of,of WCW thinking that this would be more exciting than Royal Rumble.I enjoy the Chamber of Horror Match more than WW3.

The big reason McMahon didn't want to use War Games was 'cause Dusty Rhodes invented it. Now Dusty's om the booking team we may see it.

Do they even have 60 guys under contract? I will not go for a Battle Royal that doesn't have 60 quality workers, no divas, no luchadores, no junior division. Then, it might work. I don't see why you'd exclude the luchadores, especially since in WWE they tend to get pushed more than the other cruiserweights... But anyway, yes there are over 60 people on the current active roster. 65 I believe if Vader and Goldust are sticking around. As well as 6 other people who I'd classify as inactive (either injured or havent appeared in a while). And then there are dozens of developmental guys and random legends (I don't include Piper, Bob Orton, Austin, Hogan and the like in the current count).

I totally forgot that Spin the Wheel had been used a couple times in the E, although I wouldn't say it was as successful as it could have been. I still think World War III could be interesting, except they should relegate it to only two rings, kind of like the Battle Bowl event, which also included the lethal lottery, but I digress. I guess I'm just interested in seeing what certain guys are capable of doing when they have two rings to jump around in.

It just seems like you risk the possibility of having a night with nothing but ladder matches.

BattleBowl!! featuring the Lethal Lottery!
With WWE's current dual-brand, rivalrous climate, it'd be perfect.

So they can spin it as many times as needed to get the match they want, then air that take for TV. I recall one of the Raw Roulette episodes where the first spin of the wheel landed on a cage match, then they cut to a shot of the arena. As if by magic, a cage was set up and ready to go! How fortunate! One thing from WCW that I wish WWE would use is the long runway WCW used to have for PPVs. Remember that? It would connect to the very edge of the ring, so guys could just walk right in. Not sure why, but I always thought that setup looked cool.

^I agree, I liked that old runway, and plus it added to the wrestler's matches as well. Cactus Jack must've backdropped like a hundred times on that thing. WWE should bring it back,IMO. I also liked the ring by the pool on Nitro:Spring Break. I remember when Rey Mysterio dropkicked Ric Flair into the pool at the end of one those shows, great stuff.

But when the wheel stopped wouldn't that make it look too artificial? A sudden stop like that.
