Every time something good happened in 2006, it led to pure crap. There was a lot of good, but nothing was capitalized on.
Edge catches fire, improves ratings, then gets shafted at Wrestlemania for Triple H. In hindsight, no big deal, but during the time, it wasn't a very popular decision. The Cena/Edge fued did carry the year though, and was a throwback to the Attitude Era at times.
DX reunites, does some cool stuff, and then quickly turns into never ending Wrestlecrap, featuring The McMahons. This was super hot and anticipated too.
ECW..we all know how that turned out. Started out hot with ONS 2, but I ended up being offended every Tuesday. watching generic WWE hosses being put over the ECW originals left and right.

Rise of Edge? Yes. This proved all of the naysayers who thought Hardy should've taken his spot wrong. Return of Jeff Hardy, DX reunion (at times was great) Rated RKO, Trish/Mickie and Trish's last run, the end of Lita vs Trish ( ) Cena vs Edge, which for some reason wasn't at any Wrestlemania... It had some bright spots and some dark spots.

Huge yay. It was the last really good year of wrestling imo. TNA was great during this time too. The only thing I really didn't care for was DX vs Mcmahons.
