I watched some Wrestlemania X today and in the video package they showed him doing belly to belly suplexes and some kind of slam. I thought they looked good (one was done to Hogan).
I used to think Yokozuna was awesome back when I didn't know much about wrestling, because he reminded me of E. Honda and he was seemingly unstoppable. Now that I know more I think he was a good heel. I like hosses unlike the rest of the IWC apparently. I mean, hosses that can at least work halfway decently or have some character. Heidenreich doesn't bug me all that much and I thought he was pretty funny sometimes. Masters on the other hand I think is a bit of a bore, but he isn't as bad as when he was first on TV.

I kind of missed the Yoko era and thus can't claim to be a fan, however...
It was mentioned in the intro post to this threat that we IWC folks are hard on hosses. Well, to me, there are hosses and there are hosses. Sid Vicious is a hoss. Mean Mark Callous, before the Undertaker era, was a hoss. Wrestling always has 300 pound plus folks who are hosses and some of them take for a long time and some don't.
But, a Yokozuna, or a Big Show, or an... I say it, invoking the rightful god of this category, an Andre the Giant -- those are different kinds of hoss. Of the lot, Andre is my best example because, in his prime, he performed non-hoss moves like standing drop kicks, that left live arenas stunned and thinking "WTF?" decades before they knew that WFT would be an acceptable Web term.
There are hosses, and we have and will, see plently. But, then, there are wrestlers who'll make us think that our definition of humanity, in terms of both size and ability to really go, is just not inclusive enough. To me, Yokozuna is in that category, alongside Andre and alongside where I think that the Big Show will eventually be placed.
Hell, one appeal of wrestling is that it features performers who embody what we don't think can actually exist. Yoko's one of those guys to me.

I never thought he was the second coming of Hulk Hogan or anything but I agree with you that he could have been put to better use and was pretty fun to watch, in his better moments.

The thing about Albert was he was crisp and I hardly ever saw him botch a move. Plus his moves looked good.

I marked for Yoko too as a kid. I loved his fued between him and The Undertaker, it was weird seeing this 500 pound man turn vulnerable whenever he would show up. R.I.P.

I loved Yoko from his debut till his death, and still enjoy watching all his matches on tape now.I think he played one damn good, unstoppable monster heel.I think he would definitely be in my top 10 best heels of all time, and certainly in the top 10 of big guys.
