doesnt make sense if the newz is right with orton winning the rumble then disappearing til mania. geez. wwe sucks right now if its true
Posted by Marc Middleton on 12/30/2011 - Regarding Randy Orton, there have been a number of different ideas on how to handle his injury creatively, since at one point he was set to win the Royal Rumble in his hometown of St. Louis.
Officials have discussed having Orton do a surprise return late in the Rumble, win it and then take more time off to heal leading into WrestleMania 28.
Keeping him off the Rumble and having him return around Elimination Chamber to set up his WrestleMania match has also been discussed.

How is it WWE's excuse? Orton, Edge, Batista, etc. because they told ahmed, rey, eddie, hardcore holly, mero, and alot of other people thats why they kinda held back on major pushes........ so now them trying to push orton to the moon while half cripple is basically saying we'll even push a corpse

I think he means their excuse for not signing people or maybe not pushing them. I dunno.

Oh I see what you're saying. Since you're an NFL fan I'll use the Portis analogy that I used in the NFL-WWE thread for Rey Mysterio. Even with injury issues, a guy like that is going to get more chances than otherwise based on a certain degree of talent, so long as he can make returns while healthy, and Randy is definitely making returns.

In addition to injuring a few people himself, I believe. orton hasnt ever injured anyone? omg.......someone refused to put someone over?! cmon......people still do it today. just ask triple h Seriously? You can't just take one single factor and paint an entire picture based on that. You have to look at all the factors. Ahmed wasn't very good, he injured people (people, plural), he got injured himself, and he refused to put people over. As an entire package, he wasn't worth pushing. Everyone screws up, and injuries happen to everyone, but when things happen multiple times, then you're not going to be given the ball. You can't say "Well X wrestler got injured, and Y wrestler refused to put someone over, so Z wrestler shouldnt' get punished for either!" That's a really naive way of trying to argue it, it only fails to make sense if you willingly ignore the fact that other things tie into it. Cena was injured and came back to win the Rumble, but Cena is reliable, and he was at the top of the card. Orton as well is a main eventer. They're not going to go back to jobbing to Superstars just because they got injured. Injuries will hurt someone in the midst of a push a lot more than they will hurt someone in a holding pattern until the next World Title feud, just like getting a Wellness Violation would hurt someone who was in their first big ME angle a lot more than it'd hurt someone who was already there. Never heard anything about the Rey or Eddie cases. And, when it comes down to it, you know what? People will get treated differently in jobs based on their jobs and other factors. This isn't something endemic to WWE, this is something that happens everywhere. What might get one person reprimanded might get another person fired, based on past history, attitude, reliability, etc. That's life, you have to deal with it.

I'm more concerned with that bit about Orton being planned to win the Royal Rumble. I mean, it's better than Del Rio, but it still sucks.

That anyone thought Orton winning the rumble was a good idea = no confidence.
"NO CONFIDENCE!" *Walks out*

Why exactly does Randy Orton need to win the Rumble? Seriously, all he has to do is walk up to Teddy Long and ask for a title match and he has it.

For all the comparsions to Austin going on, I can see this: Randy RKO's everyone in sight. Even told not to be there, he destroys everyone breathing, displays some personality, and somehow the Viper is the BAMF heading into the Rumble. He wins, goes into 'Mania, wins the title. I know I might be cynical to popular belief, but I could see this happening.

Dolph Ziggler should win the Royal Rumble. He's on the rise. A win would give him a boost.

Yeah, unless at Mania Orton squashes the living f*** out of him I have no interest whatsoever in that match.
