Awesome.
Does anyone know when this is slated to hit newsstands? I want to make sure I pick up this one.

I'm blinking away tears.
And they got the hat color right this time, too.

So much win.
It is a similar style to the first cover, and Mario is at the end of a level(note the flag pole), just like the magazine is at its end.
Bravo.
Lots of thought went into this cover, and really just perfect timing that Nintendo launched a new system recently with a Mario launch title.

That made me way happier than it should have. That is such fitting way to go out.

I hope so, when that book first launched it had the best covers, the art was amazing. When they started using promo images and such it lost what made it so special.

Oh yeah, this is getting bought.
It's a shame we won't get a special issue celebrating the SNES, like the magazine did with the NES.

The only possible problem is PSM's first cover was a FFVII drawing. If they haven't printed their review of PSASBR yet, I guess they can make a cover with cast members from PSASBR in the positions of the the FFVII cast members.

Wow. I still can't believe that Nintendo Power is actually gonna be gone, but if they had to go, they literally couldn't come up with a better idea for their final cover than a next-gen version of the game that they had as their first cover.

Yeah, I was all about Nintendo Power growing up so I'll be picking this up on principle (I don't even own any current Nintendo systems outside of my DS).

That's an amazing cover. Reminds me of the cover of the last Transformer comic, where it said "#80 In A 4 Issue Limited Series" on the top banner. I love circular references like that.
Good to see they're going out on top.
