Okay, this popped into my head, but what about Greg Gagne? based on the ESPN Classic stuff I've seen and stuff on AWA history as a tag guy and a mid carder he was decent enough and over. It was when they tried to make him into a main eventer. It's funny looking at this thread a month later. Some things I wanted to add. While Joe Henning in FCW, McGuillicuty was actually seen as a can't miss prospect before NXT came to fruition. He suffered a fairly serious injury down in Florida IIRC and kind of faltered. Of course, what hurt him more is he never really worked as a heel in his short time on the indies or in FCW. So of course, WWE calls him up as a heel and expect him to cut... that promo. Kind of the same with Husky Harris. Before he got called up he and Bo were doing a Dukes of Hazzard like gimmick (They were Bo and Duke Rotunda) and of course, they call him up just as Husky doing a gimmick he never worked. Those cases show a huge improvement in developmental since Triple H took over. Not just with them, but they would constantly just call people up with no real plan and then take away what was helping them get over in developmental (see Colt Cabana, Ryan Braddock, Gavin Spears, and Ricky Ortiz). Of course, the other issue has been mentioned where they try to use the dad to get the kid over. I will say I do like how Richie Steamboat is somewhat trying to differentiate his look from his dad by growing facial hair and having longer hair. When allowed to work as a heel, he's not bad at it either.

It was too much, too soon. Instead of training, he hung around with Stacy Kiebler (can't blame him). I enjoyed his run with Crowbar as a tag team, I felt they fit well together, and plus Crowbar could do most of the heavy lifting in the team anyway. But, with being pushed too soon, being the son of a WCW/NWA legend and probably lack of motivation, it just didn't work out.

He's wiener cousins with George f***ing Clooney. The guy had to be doing something right to seduce Stacy.

What about Bret Hart? Stu was arguably the most famous Canadian wrestler of all time before his kids, so Bret had some huge shoes to fill, and several of his siblings (Bruce in particular) tried and failed.

Bret and Owen were I believe the biggest of the Hart kids, and also had the best looks. Smith was generally hated by everybody, Bruce wasn't well liked either, and I don't really think Keith was ever interested in moving up.

Why not name it after Erik Watts?

I think the term works best for multi-generational wrestlers who just fail at everything so badly - such as Lacey Von Erich. I recall Lance Storm saying something to the effect of "I didn't think anyone could inherit less of their father's wrestling genes than David Flair, but Lacey Von Erich has proved me wrong."

I think David Flair wanted to be a state trooper or some such.

I think David Flair wanted to be a state trooper or some such. Opposite of the WCW movie Ready to Rumble.
