OK State whooping that Purdue ass. Really wish I could've afforded a ticket to this game now....(I know I said I would go to the game a few weeks ago but by the time I got money to buy the ticket I wanted they were sold out and the remaining tickets were above what I could afford).

Bonus points to anyone who can come up with who has the new longest bowl drought now that Northwestern snapped their skid.

2 New years day bowls in the books. Big 10 goes 1-1. Northwestern beats Mississippi State, while Purdue loses to Oklahoma State.

Okie State should have been playing in the Alamo or Holiday Bowl. Period.

Okie State should have been playing in the Alamo or Holiday Bowl. Period. Like I said, they shouldn't have even been playing Purdue. They should have been in any of the other Big 12 bowl games to occur so far that wasn't the Dallas Bowl. Hell, I would've loved to seen them play Tulsa. Not often you get to see in-state teams play against each other in a bowl game, and Tulsa is one of the best C-USA teams.

One thing I hate about Jon Gruden's commentary: His phony "Mind Reading" commentary. Saying what players feel even when they haven't shown or said anything of the sort.

Dunno how to judge Obrien if he bolts. I mean its tough in that position. He can try to recruit in vein the next four yrs, then if he does get a squad of winners they can go 12-0 beat two #1 ranked teams and it won't mean squat in a record book. As rewarding as that may be in State College PA, it doesn't put you in the Woody Hayes, Lou Holtz, Bear Bryant conversation. If h

y2joey is right, New Mexico State hasn't even been to a bowl game since 1960(a 20-13 win over Utah State in the Sun Bowl).
As far as winning a bowl appearance, Ball State has never won a bowl game in 6 tries(now the longest current bowl losing streak with Northwestern snapping a 9 bowl game losing streak and Georgia Tech snapping a 7 game streak), and UTEP hasn't won a bowl game in 5 appearances since 1967. Minnesota also has lost 5 straight bowl games since 2005.
With Rutgers and Mississippi State losing their bowl games, Auburn now has the longest current bowl winning streak at 5 with Florida State and Ole Miss with a chance to tie them.
