Maybe FLorida State can up the WTF factor and join the Big 12 with another ACC school.

Heisman voting is weird and sort of messed up.

Maybe FLorida State can up the WTF factor and join the Big 12 with another ACC school. I'm actually pretty sure that will happen. The only ways to prevent that are: 1. The ACC needs to bring in some really good football schools to amp up the competition. 2. The SEC has to give them a much bigger and much better offer. If neither of those things happen, I'm about 80 percent sure FSU will join the Big 12.

Keep in mind, Luck had a bit of a down year, and RG3 played for Baylor (also known as "WTF? Baylor has a Heisman winner?!")

Heisman voting is weird and sort of messed up. Last year also had a deeper field. This year it was between 3. Last year had RG3, Luck, Honey Badger, Montee Ball, and Trent Richardson.

Keep in mind, Koda, that last yer's Heisman winner wet the bed to a degree against Okie State and K-State. Baylor got killed at Stillwater- A&M's losses weren't lopsided, so it's not like they got creamed ala many a stat monster (I.e. Hawaii or Texas Tech guys)

Love that they did the billboard. But love the spot in the Austin Statesman more. Really wish they were playing Texas I'm the cotton now.

Was hoping for Teo, he's as good as the next guy and taking him would be a paradigm shift in terms of the Heisman.

No offense Slim but it really hard to say he was the best period when Manti and Klein make just as good, if not better, cases as Johnny Football. This was the most toss up year in a long time as all three finalists had a good case. I was a big supporter of Collin Klein until he s*** the bed against Baylor. But I still think he's a good quarterback. Yeah, Johnny Football had one more loss than Optimus Klein, but he had better statistics than Optimus. And I really don't see the "Klein's schedule was tougher than Manziel's" argument working here. Yes, A&M played two 1-AA teams, but K-State played one 1-AA team. As for top ten teams, A&M played 2 top ten teams, while K-State played one. I know it's repetitive, but I think that Bama game did help Johnny Football propel himself to a Heisman. Think about it: Freshman QB. Going into Tuscaloosa. Playing against the Evil Empire of College Football. And he punched them square in the mouth. T'eo does have the most argument, since they played two top 10 teams, but they played down to some teams they should've blown out (Pitt, Purdue, BYU, Boston College). And I think that hurt T'eo quite a bit in the voting. They beat BC pretty convincingly, and Purdue and BYU's closeness was on the offense struggling. Pitt was the only bad game that ND had on defense. I think what hurt T'eo was there wasn't a Heisman campaign going from the beginning of the season, because no one thought he would have the season he had, or that ND would have the season they had. Manziel definitely won it with the Alabama victory. He was already getting the gaudy numbers, but that game gave him a big moment, just like defeating Oklahoma gave RGIII a big moment last year. All three were already great players, but that game pushed Manziel just ahead of the other two.

For the better part of 4 quarters Manziel made them look completely clueless on defense. Unless he completely tanked the rest of the season he was going to win IMO. If K-State had stayed undefeated I think that Klein may have gotten the nod from the old timers that don't want to vote for Freshman. If ND wasn't unbeaten T'eo would have been an afterthought, even if his numbers were the same. Manziel was the best player in the NCAA this year and deserved the award.

Which is one of my problems with him winning. One game shouldn't determine the Heisman, it should be about the combined performances in all of the major games they played. He won because of a great game against Bama and padded stats against a lot of awful opponents, but as far as big games went, he wasn't that special.

One game shouldn't determine the Heisman, but most of the time, it usually does.
How do you think Eric Crouch won the Heisman that one year? Because of the Oklahoma game.

So Texas Tech is interviewing A&M OC Kliff Kingsbury and Clemson OC Chad Morris. Fan base wants Kingsbury in the worst way since is arguably the most beloved QB at Tech (Graham Harrell being up there as well) and was the first Tech QB to beat both Texas and Oklahoma in his career.

Bobby Petrino will be announced as head coach at Western Kentucky at 4 PM today.
So, that opener between UK and Western next season just got very interesting.

Texas Tech, if you steal Kingsberry, I will sodomize your cleverly devised and directed icon with a maroon Canon prior to blowing off the front end with a thirty lbs ball. Shop elsewhere or hire Grahm Herrel
