Looking at how Shield has been operating, they're pretty similar to the Nexus in being NXT rookies that started ganging up on WWE Superstars. Bryan, Kane, Cena, Orton and Ryback...two former Nexus members have already been victims of Shield beatdowns. Also, like Nexus they didn't waste much time going after Cena.
My question to you FAN...will Shield fare better than Nexus did or will they too fall victim to the Cenation?

We'll just have to see if the Shield get sidetracked, like Nexus did, or stick with that they're doing now.

I thought this thread was going to be proposing a feud between Shield and Nexus. Actually, I think I would like to see that.
Have the Shield attack Ryback in a number one contenders match against Wade, causing Wade to get DQ'd. Wade is pissed and comes out the next week and calls out The Shield. They surround him, only to be intercepted by Slater and Gabriel. They wouldn't even have to break up 3MB, Slater could tell the other two he's just working on a side project.

Yeah, nothing tops what Nexus was. The Shield isn't even remotely as interesting, even if creative somehow doesn't f*** their push up (don't worry, they will).

If the Shield win in the PPV, or even get a DQ, then they are already superior to the Nexus.
Though, the run up to Summerslam was freakin' awesome.

Even if The Shield keeps getting wins out of nowhere...they still won't be better than the Nexus because they just seem kind of boring.

One thing that kind of jumped out at me is this. Didn't Wade Barrett ask a favor of Paul Heyman if he were join Team Punk before Punk was pulled for a main event? (If this storyline was resolved on Raw and I missed it, let me know.)
What if Wade asked for a new faction of NXT stars...a more streamlined Nexus and he's secretly pulling the strings until the time is right? Who have they attacked so far?
John Cena: Nexus enemy number one Randy Orton: Another major Nexus and New Nexus enemy. Helped plant the seeds of the Nexus' demise with his win over Barrett at Survivor Series. Ryback: Former Nexus member. Daniel Bryan: Former Nexus member AND enemy of Barrett. Kane: Associated with Bryan. The Miz: NXT Pro and the man that stole Barrett's thunder when he cashed in the MitB briefcase to steal the WWE Title.
Now, they've been hinting that CM Punk and Paul Heyman are pulling the strings behind the Shield...and Heyman may be helping...but what if Punk is just a smokescreen? He's another Barrett enemy considering he hijacked Nexus from his grasp. What if Barrett is making them look like Punk is in charge...just to add him to the beatdown list when the time is right.

Too bad they already dismissed comparisons to the nWo, because they could have done a similar storyline. Both Ambrose and Rollins have history in ROH, so they could have hinted at an invasion from there, with more former ROH stars (i.e. Ohno, even Bryan eventually) joining, though, like the nWo, never actually mentioning them by name.

Ambrose has a history in CZW, not ROH.

Heyman does owe Barrett a favour. Maybe, when the time is right, it'll be turning on Punk?

If it's happened I must have missed it.
