Why? They already have a plethora of new mid card talent, why do they need to bring back old, and frankly, failed ones from the past? The only time Shelton was of any use was as a spot monkey, which they have Kofi for now, or when he was stuck with his Mama, and even that was her, not him. It's like everyone forgets that he was really over in 2004, and only failed because a pointless heel turn.

I found him awkward as a face in 2009 ECW, and even in Smokey Mountain ROH he seemed less-than-charismatic on average compared to the people around him.

Now they have new people, so again, why do they need him? Kofi has his old spot, bringing him back will just halt the advancement of new talent, or produce a new JTTS. Being over 8 years ago doesnt negate that the guy had pretty much zero personality and was only over as a spot monkey.

People callin' my mans a spot monkey: You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.
Jack Evans is a spot monkey. Shelton Benjamin is a technical wrestler who can go aerial. Respect the difference.

No one gave a damn he could do something nice in the ring because he couldn't sell his personality or any storyline for damn.

I wonder if he's grown a personality since then. Sounds odd but Charlie has been the life & soul of WGTT in ROH personality wise. He just comes off like a jock jerk arsehole whereas Shelton is the same freak athlete who tries to look a bit of a dick but fails at that. I was about to post this. Charlie is doing great in ROH and Shelton is the lag behinder. I could see Charlie getting a TV Title run

My thing is what would they do with him? They don't know how to utilize R-Truth, who is leagues more charismatic and plenty athletic in his own right.

I've got no problem with this if it's to put new talent over. He's a good hand for up and comers to work with, imo.

I'm no Truth fan, but I feel he's better in ring than Shelton and agree with you entirely. Without a solid hand Shelton just throws out a lot of spots and doesn't really think about it. Shelton is good as the hot tag partner but outside of that he's not a solid midcard hand who's capable of bringing the best out of younger guys.

I'll believe this if it actually happens. These reporters seem to have a habit of jumping the gun in reporting about people signing with WWE. It seem to be happening with numerous former stars and indy talents lately.
I'm with the people who wonder what Shelton can bring to the table at this point. What does he have that they couldn't get out of Kofi, Tyson Kidd, or Justin Gabriel?

Not a fan, but if he signs with the E, that means he won't go to TNA to clutter the roster with his blandness, and that's a good thing in my book.

I would prefer Haas coming in so much more! I don't mind Shelton but its no secret he's lacking in the personality department.
