No matter how many times I seen it I always make sure to watch it at least once during the marathon. Anyone else do the same?

I saw it years ago of course, but after the marathons started(it's been almost 15 years or so now I believe) I always catch snippets until I bought the dvd a few years ago

Of course I do! This year I'll make sure to wear one of my Christmas Story shirts.
One of these days I'm gonna tour the house and adjoining museum.

Everyone has said at some point that TBS is nuts for doing a 24 hour marathon of one movie.
So I won't belabor the point.
Everyone has said that Hollywood is nuts for making a sequel.
So I won't belabor that point.
What nobody says, though, is that the internet has failed for not letting "Electric Sex" become a meme. That's my contribution.

I rarely watch it during the marathon, however, I usually make it a point to watch it during the Christmas season.

Not only is it my favorite Christmas movie. But it's one of my favorite movies altogether. Literally every scene makes me laugh. We haven't had TBS here in years so I haven't seen the marathon. But when we did get TBS I used to put the channel on and leave it there all day while I did other things.

Man I love the part when the dad mispronounced the word Fragile. I also loved the part when Ralphie beat up the bully.

Strangely, I have never sat down and actually watched this movie. At some point, I need to change that.

Anybody else ever go through this scenario?
You might flip it on TBS sometime Christmas Eve, just for atmosphere. Then, you might have to go somewhere for awhile, or you take a nap, play video games, etc. Maybe a couple of hours later, you watch the movie again...and it's at the exact part you had left off at before!
All in all, I might watch the entire thing in snippets like that. I never watch the end until the last showing.

I may be the only person in the world that absolutely despises this movie. I don't despise it, but I think it's extremely overrated. That being said I never saw it as a kid and saw it for the first time in my late 20s, so there was no childhood nostalgia associated with it for me.
