Loved it as a kid but since the marathon started, I'm indifferent to it. Give me Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas any day.

I may be the only person in the world that absolutely despises this movie. I don't despise it, but I think it's extremely overrated. That being said I never saw it as a kid and saw it for the first time in my late 20s, so there was no childhood nostalgia associated with it for me. I think that might be mine too. I saw it when I was 14 and hated it. I grew up with Christmas Vacation among others and I just didn't like the warm feeling it imposed on you. It felt like a movie made 20 years too late. That's not to say the people who like it are wrong or anything, but to me...it felt like a movie out of place compared to so many others. I would almost say if someone told me this was made in 1983, I would assume it was a TV movie.

Its not my favorite Christmas movie (Christmas Vacation is), but I still watch it every year at least once when the marathon is on. Usually, I fall asleep with the tv on, then when I wake up try to figure out as fast as possible where in the movie it is.

Count me in the category that doesn't really care for it. Had I grown up in the USA watching it every year, then perhaps my opinion would be different. I have to watch it every Christmas because my wife loves it.

After being subjected to marathons for so many years, I just can't watch it anymore.

Love it, but only really watch it once a year. A marathon of ANY movie would pretty much kill a persons love for it.

I may be the only person in the world that absolutely despises this movie. No, my dad does to. Me and my brother would leave the it on for the whole marathon. Every year we've been alive, 25 me, 29 him. He refuses to watch it now. I plan to repeat this for another year.

Love the movie. I always have the marathon on constantly, but never pay attention to the whole thing in one sitting. I just catch bits and pieces throughout the day.
I also find it so odd that Bob Clark made not only this movie but the original Black Christmas, on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. That's actually one of my favorite horror movies and I usually watch it around Christmas.

It's safe to say he had one of the more odd directorial careers.

I refuse to purchase this movie on DVD; I must only watch it on TV when it airs.
