I have not been keeping up a lot lately. I did watch a little bit of the Tribute To The Troops recently and because I was tired, I recorded it so that I could watch the Miz TV with Kermit and Miss Piggy.
I noticed that Miz was getting pops from the crowd when Damien Sandow came out. When did Miz turn face?

He does deserve it, The Miz is very talented.

He turned face right around Survivor Series after quitting what would've been CM Punk's team because of Punk's cowardice. He'd officially turn on the Raw before SS after asking to be a part of Mick Foley's team and subsequently getting voted in via Raw Active.

Yes, Miz is now a face.
A very obnoxious, unlikeable face, but still a face.

Miz's face turn at least makes more sense than Del Rio's. I mean at least Miz has a few weeks of build up, Del Rio just...does the exact same thing but sticks up for Ricardo now. Progress?

He's damn near the prototypical WWE face. A swarmy jackass who I can't stand, yet he's a face because he panders to the audience and insults the heels.

It's like WWE saw it work with Batista and they think it automatically works with every guy on the roster. Most guys (A) don't have anywhere near the raw charisma that Dave had and (B) lack the good-guy qualities that Bats actually had (being the guy who dethroned Trips, being Rey-Rey's big buddy, etc.).

That's the problem with WWE faces. There's nothing remotely heroic about them. They're basically all bullies who pick on people who happen to be conceited. It's a lesser of two evils thing, as opposed to an actual admirable human being. Cena, for example, has flashes of heroism, but then the next he's a smug, selfish idiot who overreacts to things that are ludicrously insignificant. This might pain some people, but Rey is pretty much the only real top babyface in the company. He's a plucky little guy who loves his family and always gets targeted rather than initiates. He's a midget masked Ricky Steamboat.

Granted, I haven't watched in a while, so if he's had some dickish progression then I had no idea. But from what I remember, he would go out, beat up some people, and leave. Nothing villainous at all. And he always won clean, rather than cheating or getting preferential treatment from officials. And I think WWE needs more "serious wrestling" guys. People who are just pure performers. They could easily have done this with Kofi Kingston, and they kinda did in the past, where he was happy-go-lucky but turned serious when he was wrestling people. And for what it's worth, he got really over with fans a few years ago. I don't know why WWE is so afraid of replicating successes that are right in front of them. But instead, they go for an old idea that hasn't worked in years.

They kind of do have a bunch of those "serious wrestling" guys, but that's chalked up more to the fact that they have no storyline or any kind of big time push. WWE does try to replicate success, but they're trying to replicate guys like The Rock or Y2J Chris Jericho. The Miz is a guy that actually fits the "cocky douchebag face" mold however.

Eh...you mean how he's been bullying CM Punk (who is a huge bell-end, but did nothing to Ryback to provoke him) and getting preferential treatment from Vince by putting him in the title match at the previous PPV? WWE's got plenty of serious guys they could use as a face, but honestly I don't think "serious guys" will really pull in the crowd they're looking for.

Last SmackDown he was interviewing Aj, Dolph Ziggler and another superstar, (I Don't really watch that often) The crowd seemed pleased with the Miz, rather than Booing every chance they get.

Pretty sure most of those cheers were pipped in. If I recall correctly he did not get much of a good face reaction when they were live on smackdown.
