Great moment that kicked off an epic heel run. Please come back Dave, we need you.

Everything about that time with Dave was perfect. He played the absolute perfect heel and it was amazing to watch his work.
I know this happens a lot, but you really do start appreciating people more when they leave. Watching a lot of his old stuff, he's actually really good at times. His feud with Edge,Taker, HHH, Cena, HBK, Jericho and Eddie were all extremely good and Dave kept up with them

This is how it's going to go down at the Elimination Chamber with Sin Cara, with Cara screaming "Se supone que debes ser mi amigo!*"

Also, what is it about beating down Rey that leads to awesome heel turns? Granted, it's happened only twice with Eddie (before the Dominic stuff) and Batista, but still.

It was everything a heel turn should have been. A good build up where we see Dave getting more and more frustrated and then one of the best beat-down scenes I’ve seen in a long time. Don’t know if Rey is just easy to throw around and therefore it looks more impressive, but it looked like he was hurting Rey bad.
And then his heel run from that point just got better and better which each passing day. I remember the forum here just blowing up with Batista threads praising him.

I love how it wasn't some surprise beatdown. He told Rey directly that he was going to kick his ass and turn heel. And he did it so silent and solemnly as well. It was a perfect set-up.

His heel run was great. Batista should have turned heel much earlier. He was always an utter unlikeable douche as a face and for that reason I could never get into him.
Shame the feud with Rey though didn't Batista eventually become Rey's personal jobber? I remember Rey beating him on a few occasions after their first match.
Edit: Thanks for not making the video available to watch in England WWE. You do know the "WWE Universe" extends past America don't you?

I loved it, was so tired of Batista's face character and his never ending title shots. His heel run was so much more amazing than we could have hoped and gave us so many great moments.

it was surreal seeing a guy I'd pretty much written off as boring and one-note become the highlight of every show. I still say his exit is the best way a heel's ever left the company. it's kinda like what Jericho wanted to do but just so much funnier.

Led to the John Cena "fat chicks and babies" promo which is one of my favorite things in the last few years.

I'm almost positive Rey was Batista's personal chew toy after the turn. I know Dave demolished him at Survivor Series. That's why I never got the hate people had for Rey when he was one of the top guys in WWE. He had no problem looking vulnerable. In that clip the OP posted he's all but begging for his life. What other top face is going to do that?

If you are using Google Chrome just go download Proxtube and enjoy a region-free YouTube. In terms of the video, it's strange, Batistas heel turn effectively got me back into wrestling having not watched since Kane buried Biker Taker. If only because my friend would not shut up about how great Batista was that it made me check out his greatness for myself. I'm glad I did, I got to catch the tail end of his heel run in all of it's glory and I miss him.

The way he throws Rey into the wall is just brutal!

I didn't mind Batistas initial heel turn but I felt shortly after it was getting way to over the top and forced. Like no doubt there was some moments of brilliance but I still think Batista was a better face than heel.
