I was at TLC, there was a pretty loud and clear Goldberg chant He did say "before TLC in Brooklyn". Suggests to me that the "Goldberg" chants were subdued but came to life again at TLC. It will probably be smark city thing for the most part. Guess I read it wrong, though the crowd less smarky than MSG

The thing is, I don't get the Goldberg chants. How it is supposed to be negative to Ryback? The fans are comparing him to a huge star from the past. It's like if people who don't like Cena chanted "Hogan." It doesn't make sense.

It's referencing that Goldberg was a forced construct that was shoved down people's throats. And they feel the same about Ryback.

There's a reason people think he is a second-rate Goldberg, because he started off pretty much as that and still kinda is. Let's be real here..

Let's be real here.. ^^^ If you want him to succeed, cool, but you can't get mad that he gets compared to someone who was built and pushed so similar. They told you Goldberg was a big deal before you bought it. They told you Ryback was a big deal before you bought it. The comparison will persist.

That would infinitely possible if lower card guys get mic time and storylines and whatnot. The current format supports the uppercard too much. It's ad nauseum. I like CM Punk. I like Sheamus. But if you leave them off TV for a week in favor of having something else happen, I am not going to fall over and die. Give me an Uso promo. Show me a solid women's match. That's just not how it works anymore though.

Ryback's already moved on from squashing jobbers into having longer matches. He's lost three times in a row on pay-per-view. And Goldberg's hardly been the first "monster face" character in wrestling. So how is Ryback a "second-rate Goldberg rip-off" if all the major similarities between them are gone?

So how is Ryback a "second-rate Goldberg rip-off" if all the major similarities between them are gone? Big, well-built guy. Bald. Goatee. Limited move set. Kills guys dead in the ring with little offense from opponents. Plenty of similarities between the two in the very limited gene pool that is WWE.
