Ryback. This way they could guarantee the big man got his title match and give his momentum a shot in the arm. And with Punk dealing with Rock for the time being, it would give them a chance to have Rock/Ryback cross paths and give him a rub from the Great One.
Wade Barrett. The guy's got the look and is good enough in the ring and on the mic to make it work. I think he could use a more impressive finisher, but that's just me though.
Antonio Cesaro. The guy's a beast in the ring and his strength is impressive. He's a bit boring (to me) but I'm coming around to him the more I see him. But like Barrett, the guy needs a better finisher than the whole gooch slam thing he's doing now. And I'd absolutely love to see him bust out the UFO during the rumble.

I'll say Ryback. It'll make it so Punk (if he runs through the Rock) can't worm out of a match with him at WrestleMania and gives Ryback a chance to become that new top guy that he wants to be so badly.
I don't think D-Bry or Wade SHOULD win the Rumble just yet, considering how dreadful the WWE has been in building them up for anything. With Ryback, it'd be another notch on his meathook.

Wade's in just the right place to really benefit from it. Circling the upper midcard, but lacking that big push to get him through the ceiling.
Cody could benefit similarly, but I'm afraid that they're wanting to keep him near the tag division, and all the bouncing back and forth would do more harm than good.

I will say that if it can't be D-Bry, then either of these two work for me.

I'd give it to D Bryan so we get Bryan vs. Ziggler at Wrestlemania a.k.a. Daniel's revenge. I also think nobody bar maybe Ziggler (who already has the briefcase) deserves the win more.
But I think Ryback is probably the favourite at the moment. As much as I want to see Bryan vs. Ziggler at Mania WWE will most likely go with Show vs. Ryback.

I loved the unpredictability of the earlier Rumbles. Nowadays the winner is always from a pool of three or four guys.
With the WHC now visibly the lesser world title, I don't see the harm in letting a midcarder like Ryder, Riley or Hunico getting a big PPV win and challenging the WHC in the middle of Mania. With a good couple of PPV showings they could solidify themselves as stars.

I would mark my balls off if Yoshi suddenly became a monster and just kicked the hell out of everyone and won.

I'd say the favorites to win are, in order:
1) Ryback 2) Sheamus 3) Cena 4) Bryan 5) Lesnar
Out of those, I'd prefer Bryan or Ryback. For an out-of-nowhere win, Kofi.

Cody Rhodes. It's time to move up the ladder already.

What is the reasoning behind "Daniel Bryan needs it to cement him as a star" when he spent most of the last year in the main event, and even his "demotion" to teaming with Kane has him in the very top of the midcard?
Daniel Bryan is a star already. The company obviously had a tremendous deal of faith in him. I get wanting him to win just because you want him to win but he doesn't "need" it at all.

Del Rio... He really hasn't had enough chances to get a title match.

With a good couple of PPV showings they could solidify themselves as stars. As much as I like those guys, I would rather see someone like Ryder, Riley, or Hunico win the rumble, challenge for the WWE Title and lose in spectacular fashion than be a "World Champion" on paper who is still booked like just another guy on the roster. The World Heavyweight Title is the lesser title, but at this point I'd rather they scrap it because I worry that future World Heavyweight Champions would be seen as "charity cases" rather than as legit stars. That's part of the reason I'd rather they play up the Royal Rumble victory and other non-championship achievements such as Money in the Bank as star building moments in themselves

Ryback. I can already see him stopping Show from coming off the turnbuckle and hitting him with the Shellshock for the title at Mania.
I don't know why everyone wants Barrett to win. Ever since his return he's bored me to death. Facing (and mostly jobbing to)Orton has done him no favors in my eyes. Still, Barrett just seems to be stuck in the midcard with no real direction

Ryback makes the most sense, in relation to guys who've not held either of the big two belts at least, and it'd be a 'Wrestlemania moment' of sorts if he hit his finisher on Big Show to win the World Heavyweight championship.
Dolph would be also be an interesting option as well if he still had his MITB briefcase going into Wrestlemania.
