I thought it was okay. I really enjoyed it but I thought the ending was weak. I believe that the movie should have ended when Jamie Foxx was in the gun fight after Waltz died. That fight was so built up I was loving it and he should of killed the gang there and everything but he didn't.
The movie went on a very boring fifteen minute rant with Tarantino. It tried to regain the momentum but I just couldn't get into it.
From what I have heard though, a lot of footage was cut out from between those two scenes and that would explain it. But I thought the ending was ruined by keeping it going past that first gun fight. I also thought there was a lack of exposition involving the gang that was on the ranch.

Just got back. I loved it. Everyone was great in their roles. Leo was a f***ing psycho.
I agree Django was kind of one dimensional, but I didn't mind it.
I do agree it went longer than it should have. But worth it just for the last scene with Samuel L. Jackson.

I thought the movie was well-acted all-around, though the last 20 minutes-half hour seemed a bit tacked on. Though it was awesome just for that last scene with Jackson.

Django is like Claude from GTA 3. He may have a lack of vocabulary (as compared to his other cohorts) and charisma, but it's all supplanted by the actions he does as reactions from other occurrences going on. A fast and able hand, willing to kill and destroy at a moment's notice.
Loved the movie, albeit with the tacky final act.

So who gets the Oscar nom for supporting actor? Leo and Waltz got Golden Globe nominations, but I think you could make a case for Sam Jackson as well.

Sam Jackson deserves the nomination as much as anyone, in my opinion. Even though he has the least screen time of the three, he really shone through when he got the chance.

Jackson should get a nomination. The way he switches between demeanors is very subtle in his first few scenes but then he completely reveals his true self at the end. His performance steals the scenes he's in every time.

Got back from it tonight. Good, not great. The editing was bad, like Red Zone Cuba bad. Waltz was good, Foxx bland until the end, and Leo silly until that big scene where he got evil. Good action and occasional comedic timing.
Still, the whole thing in the middle..........damn.

Made me realize how Pavlovian my reaction to hearing trap music has become haha

Just came from it. I loved the movie. I knew about the length, but it didn't drag at all.

Sam was good as always, but to me it still felt like Sam Jackson playing himself. There was no Leo in this movie, he literally became Calvin Candie. I hope he gets the nomination and runs away with the naked golden man.
