Just remembered a big one for me, the "Al Snow and Mankind - Best Friends" storyline/tag team. As Foley would say, they took nincompoopery to new levels in professional wrestling.

The Molly/Trish feud which led to Trish making fun of Molly's massive butt, complete with unflattering camera angles and getting pantsed. After years of seeing the generic top-heavy blonde bimbo look, it was about time an ass man got his due! Lawler being a moron didn't help, though...

Before there was Kane, there was...Dr. Isaac Yankem the wrestling dentist.

I wouldn't say that I "loved" it, but I think I'm the only one that thought the Piggy James storyline was okay.
It made sense to me that Michelle McCool, being the ultra vain female heel, would tease the babyface about a sore subject like her weight. McCool is the bad guy, it's not like we're supposed to agree with her. Although maybe the angle would have gone over better if it hadn't been preceded by rumors that WWE really thought Mickie was fat.

I liked it when they tried to turn Chuck Palumbo into a monster heel badass by having him job to Jamie Noble 4 weeks in a row, then having Noble steal Chuck's girlfriend Michelle McCool away from him.
But the storyline was the highlight of Smackdown every week when it was on, particularly watching McCool slowly go from being absolutely repulsed by redneck Noble's horndog act to being worried for his safety when Palumbo snaps and goes psycho.

Yeah, Piggy James was a generally fine storyline that was just derailed by a lot of hearsay, and I think the truth was closer to maybe some people in WWE thinking Mickie wasn't in proper shape and it was affecting her performances. I guess it evolved into "WWE only wants scrawny models" with some fans.

With all the love for Kane in this thread is this really the first mention of the Kane vs Shane feud? What other feud featured burning dumpsters and electrocuted testicles?

Billy and Chuck
It was only let down at the end when a truly original storyline in WWE was used as nothing more than fodder for Three Minute Warning.

Festus being a mentally challenged guy who got dead serious once the bell rang.
It was what they should have done with Eugene.
