Just what was the deal with this? I seem to recall Hall saying he had plans for a feud with Justin Credible, but he only ever put in one appearance at an ECW show. Why on earth Heyman hired this guy with his history is beyond me.

There is some Youtube vids of him in ECW. I believe Bischoff was just sick of his antics, and briefly let him go. Other users on here can elaborate on this better.

He was released from his WCW contract in October 2000, and ECW brought him in for one weekend in November. Nothing more to it than that.
There were rumors that he was going to appear at ECW's "Massacre on 34th Street" PPV, but it didn't happen.

Didn't Shane Douglas and/or Bam Bam and/or Candido threaten him if he worked there, and he eventually had to leave?

He wrestles two matches for ECW, one against Big Sal then another against Justin Credible in November. Nothing came from it mostly because ECW went bankrupt in April of the next year.

Didn't Shane Douglas and/or Bam Bam and/or Candido threaten him if he worked there, and he eventually had to leave? Not exactly. He came to an ECW show in Florida in 1998 to see his friend Justin Credible. The Triple Threat didn't want him backstage, so he left.

People forget that Scott Hall never appeared in WCW after February 2000. His personal problems simply got to be too much, and, while Russo would often incorporate Hall in storylines and visual gags (like the time Goldberg ate his contract or Booker found a Hall picture instead of the title belt), WCW officials wanted nothing to do with him. His contract ended and he went to ECW. Most of the ECW locker room wanted nothing to do with him and threatened him with death threats.

Didn't Shane Douglas and/or Bam Bam and/or Candido threaten him if he worked there, and he eventually had to leave? Douglas and Bigelow were both in WCW at the time. Chris was also in WCW in 2000 but I believe was already gone by the time Scott worked for ECW. The story was that they threatened him when Scott visited Justin Credible backstage when ECW came to Florida at one point

Most of the ECW locker room wanted nothing to do with him and threatened him with death threats. The Triple Threat didn't want Scott in ECW's locker room when he visited a show in 1998 while he was working for WCW. There were no reported issues with him in November 2000 as only worked one weekend of shows, and ECW only ran about 5 more events after that, then closed.

Why on earth Heyman hired this guy with his history is beyond me. Plus it's not like the ECW locker room was full of choir boys anyway. Plenty of well documented, sordid stories involving almost every male and female performer in ECW (save for maybe Lance Storm).

Thanks for clearing it up.

Nash mentioned on Nitro the next week that two days before Hall's birthday (which is 10/20), WCW released him.

Which was a continuity flub, since Goldberg beat Nash and destroyed Hall's contract at Bash at the Beach.
Ah, WCW 2000. I'll defend you to the death, but sheesh.
Yeah, you're right. The two stories were already getting mixed up the very weekend that Hall appeared in ECW in 2000, with news sites re-reporting the 1998 stuff, hence why my mind is fuzzy on the matter.

But the difference is that despite their oft outrageous behavior, most of ECW's performers even in its early days did not repeatedly skimp out on their contractual obligations as Hall was already notorious for doing.

He did 2 shows, one was a house show in Schenectady, NU (which I attended) and the other was a TV taping in Poughkeepsie.
The house show appearance was a total surprise for most of us there. This was before my friends and I read the dirt sheets, so we had no idea. We were talking to security about the lack of table use on the show, and he said the NY Athletic Commission was cracking down on non-tv shows using weapons, but they had a "huge surprise" for us. Some guy kept asking if it was Hall, but the security guy was ignoring him. When he came out, the pop was massive, even for such a small show. The only time I've ever heard a "Holy Shit" chant just for a guy showing up at a show.

weren't their issues in 2000 when he was appearing? I remember reading that he showed up for a third show to wrestle and Tommy Dreamer, Francine, and Sandman told him he was not welcome. Hall looked over at Justin Credible (who was champ at the time) who just kind of stood there and Hall said "So I guess we aren't friends anymore huh?"
