I'll support whichever option doesn't end up with the belt going back to Cena.

I found myself rooting for Cena in their feud. Which was confusing for the 12 year old in me who was a massive mark for The Rock.
This time I am going with it and putting my support behind Team Bring It. I still love Punk, but he's gone full heel so I'm going to slip into the warm embrace of mark-dom and do what comes natural - root for the face over the heel.

I was on Team Cena last year and I don't even like him. Punk is one of my favourites so Team Punk for me. Rock can get f***ed.

Rock's not just any old "part timer", he's one of the biggest stars in WWE history, and also a huge movie star beloved worldwide. I've never been a huge Rock fan at all, but it seems like many here under-estimate his worth. This x1000. I do wonder why so many act as if Rock is like the David Arquettes of this world. The guy is a 7x WWE Champ, he's also been the World Champ, Tag Champ & IC Champ to boot. He's beaten Austin, Hogan, HHH, Undertaker & Cena to name a few. If I can believe any "actor" can beat Punk for the title, it's one with that kind of resume. Let me elaborate, I'm not saying The Rock is Arquette, in fact I do respect Rock and what he did in the WWE. But the thing is, can you tell me what The Rock has done to keep the fans engaged in the match or at least hype the match on TV since Raw 1000? Nothing. Not even a "Via Satellite" segment. He's just been going on Twitter while Punk's been busting his ass in the ring day in and day out. I'm sorry if I'm making enemies here but this whole "Rock barely shows up until the few months before the match" is exactly what made me root for Cena during their feud.

There are very few people I'd root for over CM Punk.
The Rock definitely isn't one of them.

I honestly believe that Punk's gonna hold it until WrestleMania. I mean let's be honest, why would they have him beat Del Rio, Miz, Bryan, Ziggler, Henry, Kingston, Kane, Jericho, R-Truth, Big Show, Ryback and John Cena just so they can toss the belt to a part-timer? It doesn't make sense, and furthermore, why should we believe Rock would defend at Elimination Chamber? In conclusion, I don't want my champion to be "Live, Via Satellite" until WrestleMania. He's being advertised for Elimination Chamber.

Team Punk all the way.
I can't stand the notion that The Rock is going to end CM Punk's long reign where they could easily use it to make a new star. They already had Rock standing tall at the last 2 Wrestlemania's, why does he need a WWE Championship reign? And why does he have to end CM Punk's 400+ day reign? They could have it be Ryback that ends his reign at Wrestlemania and becomes the WWE Champion after always coming up short because of interference or bulls***. Nope, let's give it to a guy who DOESN'T need it.
Seriously, I hope Punk wins, I really do.
The only positive if Rock does win is he'll face Cena at Mania and Cena will get his win over Rock he should have got last year.

The Rock is my all time fave, but I don't like the demigod status they've given him just because he's a celebrity now. If Rock hadn't become a movie star, or if his acting career consisted entirely of Straight to DVD/Made For TV B-Movies, he wouldn't be booked so high above everyone else.
I want Punk to retain so that a new guy like Ryback or someone can get their star making moment by dethroning Punk at Mania.

I am so freaking sick of the "make a new star" talk it's not even funny.
WWE doesn't make stars, the fans do. You can't assume that someone beating Punk is going to immediately launch them into stardom. Rock beating him at least makes the reign feel like a big deal, where as him losing to a new guy may prove that he was a coward champion.

His name is Ryback and he's over as hell. They could have Punk/Ryback be a huge storyline booked up to Wrestlemania where Ryback FINALLY get's his win over Punk and becomes the WWE Champion. He's came up short time after time again because of shenanigans and interference. This time, interference is banned and Paul Heyman is barred from ringside. It's CM Punk vs. Ryback, one on one. Ryback will finally show the world why's he is a force to be reckoned with. Nope, let's scratch all that. Yeah, Ryback's over, in his early 30's, and has a ton of potential. But, nah. Let's have the longest WWE Champion reign in the modern era be ended by a guy who won't be in WWE 2 day's after Wrestlemania 29. Now THAT makes no sense at all.

Unfortunately, I have no doubt that the NY/NJ crowd is gonna give him nothing but "GOLLLLLLLDBERG" chants the whole night, ESPECIALLY if he faces Punk.

John Cena was getting "f*** You Cena," chants at WM 22, he still beat Triple H. And he's still the face of the company. Besides, the Goldberg chants don't make any sense and it's just smarks being smarks. Goldberh had a huge winning streak and hardly ever looked weak during it. Ryback has lost in 3 consecutive PPV matches. The only comparison between Goldberg and Ryback is the beard/bald look.

Yeah, and there is a person the fans picked. His name is Ryback and he's over as hell. He's came up short time after time again because of shenanigans and interference. This time, interference is banned and Paul Heyman is barred from ringside. It's CM Punk vs. Ryback, one on one. The biggest issue with this of course being that WWE still has yet to show that they'd trust Ryback in headlining a show that costs $65 and that he's doing any kind of amazing business for them that they need to restructure their plans around him. Since that hasn't happened, of course they're going back to The Rock since at this time, he's still the bigger draw and they feel they'll do better business with him. The "make a new star" argument never makes sense. WWE can't manufacture a new star just through the power of booking alone, and it doesn't come just because he'll end a fake title reign. Every previous past star had a history of making money in the past, Ryback (it would seem) still lacks that. WWE isn't wasting anything by not having him win the belt, especially since the headlining matches will still focus around Cena/Rock/Brock/HHH/'Taker. And WrestleMania isn't even the place for it, believe it or not. It's where you put your best people in the forefront so that they can make you the most money. Ryback still isn't in that place.
