I think people are arguing in circles in this thread. Of course Christian might have made it as a main eventer if WWE pushed him strong and got behind him (almost anyone could), I think the anti-Christian in the thread are just trying to say that Christian to them isn't main-event material. I'm obviously biased, but I think he proved that he is main-event material during his TNA and ECW runs, the latter of which featured probably the best modern babyface world title reign I've seen. He did so again last year despite being booked as a whiny chickenshit who never won on PPV. I can see how his lankiness might be a problem for those who want to see 'roid physiques, but he's still over 6' and in very good shape, especially for his age. (I mean, at the risk of sounding like Kevin Nash, have you seen who's been WWE Champion for the past year+?) Facially, he doesn't really look any older than Cena or Punk. As for his promos, that's an odd criticism when talking about a guy in a promotion which has Cena, Orton, Sheamus, del Rio, and Miz in the main event/uppercard. I'd say he's one of the few guys in the company who can talk at all. Anyway, I've always wondered whom the "Christian belongs in the midcard" crowd feels should be main-eventing. Do you want a three-way Ironman match between Punk, Bryan, and Ziggler every month? Because Internet fans seem to hate everyone else.

See som bytching bout Christian never main eventing. It hasn't happened n never will. Took me awhile to realize this myself. I finally figured it out after Christian lost to Orton for what seemed like 20 times in a row during their Smackdown feud. Christian's in my fave 5. If he gets a little mic time an doesn't have to job to upcoming talent with no talent, that's fine. My worst fear is that he becomes the next Fit Finlay, jobber to the jobbers.

I don't think his ECW run proved he was a main-eventer, I think they showed he could be an early-90s Bret Hart IC-level great hand mid-carder. I love Christian's matches, he's a hell of a worker and he can make newer, greener wrestlers actually look good (like Ezekiel Jackson). But for me, at least, there's nothing about him that screams "main eventer". His promos always seem forced to me, like I don't really believe what he's saying. And I know he's over 6 feet tall but his body type is odd and doesn't come off as intimidating or particularly interesting. Also, the unseen "Charisma" with him seems to be non-existent. Some guys can just stand there and give off a certain vibe, but I've never gotten that from Christian. As to your last question and who I think should be main eventing--I love Ziggler and Bryan but to me they are in their rightful places right now; a notch below full-time main event, oscillating between upper mid-card and main event. Sort of like Jericho. The wrestlers I think should be main eventing: Punk, Cena, Ryback, Sheamus (if they tweak his character), Cesaro, Sandow, Orton, possibly Barrett if he improves his "workrate", Del Rio as a face might work, and I've always been curious how Kofi would work in the main event.

So I like Ryback.. It's just an opinion I was talking about the guy with the "praise be to the god damn Ryback" sig. It's obvious he likes his overly muscular power wrestlers to be the main eventers.

Maybe he just like Ryback and there's no real context connecting that to what type of wrestlers he likes? I hope we aren't using sigs and avatars for viewpoints . "Your opinion don't count. You have Kane as your sig." "Listen to this guy, he got Daniels as his avatar."
