Urgh, that promo at the start of Smackdown. It was like the sort of lame comedy routine you hear at small comedy clubs... by the guys who get heckled. Also {Spoiler}Big Show is scared of Sheamus? Really, that's what he's claiming? Even though Show has willingly faced Sheamus what... 4 times now? Really Sheamus... go away.

Haha, I'm looking forward to this bad Sheamus promo.
Yep, he's getting to that point, where I enjoy watching him be a completely failure at comedy.

Sheamus' comedy attempts are horrible for me to watch. Its one of those things where watching with a non-fan can be BRUTAL.

Damn you Rock this is all your fault. Now every top babyface has to be a comedian. Smackdown is brutal lately, but here I go, watching now anyway.

If he never talked ever, he'd be one of my favorites. He lost all his edginess that originally got him over as a face.
Still one of the best they have in the ring though, rarely has bad matches these days.

That time of the year, month, week day for this tread.
I was reading an interview with Jerry Lynn where he slammed that the guys these days do comedy routines to each other, and he's absolutely right.

People usually over-exaggerate everything... but have to agree this time.
To me he's generally pretty good on the mic, but he just doesn't have it in him to do comedy. He can go from pretty good to downright terrible within the same promo based on whether he's trying to be funny or not.

He's awful at the comedy promos. It just sounds like a typical lame John Cena promo with a few "back in da old country" lines.

Sheamus is victim of the booking more than anything. The guy is pure talent and one of the best wrestlers they have, it's just a shame his character is so lame that is makes him highly unlikable.
I really like his in ring segment the Raw after TLC when he was more serious and admitted show was the better man that night. Stuff like that from Sheamus is great, Sheamus telling jokes and being all 'arse potato fella' is awful.

The worst is when the camera gets a tight shot of his face, and he's making some goofy face trying to sell his wheels turning or something and you know EXACTLY what shitty line he's going to say, and you wait and wait because he has such bad timing and then his delivery makes the shitty line you weren't looking forward too even worse.

I don't get it. Watch Sheamus' appearances on Conan. He is a naturally affable, funny guy. As for his promos...I really hope he's not writing them himself.

I like how the WWE told Colt Cabana "funny does not equal money", yet they have tried SO HARD (and failed) to make Sheamus funny.

I agree that Sheamus' "face comedic humor" is awful, but when he's being unintentionally funny like the "I beat myself!" line, THAT is great. I really wish WWE would make him to be more than Cena-lite.

One-hundred percent agreed. The promo that, for me, totally killed any shred of likeability Sheamus's character had left was the one where they were discussing the bogus lawsuit and he spent the whole time making beyond corny jokes.
A shame too since I really do enjoy him as a wrestler.

It's the work of a table full of hack, failed sitcom writers who have somehow bamboozled Vince, Steph and Dunn into thinking this is how wrestlers should communicate and how segments should be assembled. All the babyfaces speak in one terrible comedic hive-mind voice; perpetrated and crafted by dudes who got fired from 2 and Half Men for not being funny enough or competent enough. ROLL THAT AROUND IN YOUR MOUTH FOR A SEC. The jokes you're hearing on sitcoms are the BEST these types of imbeciles have to offer. So imagine someone who failed to even be on that level of horrendous.
