I used to, but I never had a good time. I don't trust people either. There are so many drunk drivers, it's scary.
Last year I had a few friends come over and we watched some DVDs. Doing the same next year. I just find it irritating the next day when all my Facebook friends post drunk pictures.
How about you? What are your plans?

Been drinking since noon and ready to hit the bars. Should be a good night!

I went out and had a couple beers but ended around 9. Better to get home before the cops and crazies are everywhere.

Just driven back from somewhere and I've encountered - Drunk people laying on the road - Some kid trying to kick a shop window - Massive Fight in the High Street - Couples getting into shouting arguments. --- I was never a fan of the new year as it is, but this one particular as helped me realise that in future I'm staying indoors or atleast staying away from busy areas

I went out to dinner with some friends earlier. Now I'm listening to New Year Nation on SiriusXM.
I don't plan to stay up for the ball drop.

I've gone to people's houses and hung out, but I've never hit the bars. It's just asking for trouble.

I tend to go out and get unabashedly HAMMERED on New Year's Eve (don't worry, I don't drive home! Infact, the reason why I throw such caution to the wind is because I'm not driving.) at this bar the I regularly drink at. When I go out I don't have the problems people tend to have when they go to the more trendy night spots such as crowding, over priced drinks and inflated cover charges. The place I go to usually has music up stairs in which there is a cover charge, but they've been waiving it on NYE, they have fairly priced alcohol and it might be a bit more crowded than usual, but you still have plenty of elbow room. Plus, since I'm a regular there and an average-pretty good tipper the bar staff is pretty attentive to refilling my drinks when empty and when they do shots they tend to let me join in. Then when I get home I enact "Operation: Hydration" while watching SyFy's Twilight Zone marathon......That being said, I'm staying in this year. I have plans in Cambridge, Massachusetts tomorrow night (45-an hour from where I live) and I don't want to spend my entire day recovering from last night and then go out for a long drive to and from Cambridge nearly blind from the hangover I would surely give myself.

I usually stay in. I also go to family gatherings. I never go out and party. Too wild of a crowd for New Years in my opinion.

I went to a friend's place for a few drinks last night, about 10:30 we all got in cabs and went to a bar. I get inside and the bartender says cover is 15 dollars. this wasn't even an upscale club, it was basically a dive with karaoke. so I said f*** that, wished my friends well and just went home and read my book. my new year's resolution is to never go to a bar on new year's.

No f'n way.
NYE is always the worst night to go out. The people are drunk and a million times more annoying/dangerous everywhere you go, everything's over priced cause "ITS NYE!!!!" and parking is atrocious.
On top of that the only types of things really happening on NYE are at clubs/bars etc so that just makes it that much less appealing.

Hell no. I just do the same thing I do every end of the year- call some people, invite anybody willing to come over and we all get sloshed while avoiding the dangerous drunks out in the street. My redneck neighbors are especially bad every New Years, as they're either popping off firecrackers recklessly or arguing and fighting.

Nope, I've grown out of pubs and clubs, been going to them since 15 (they're not strict on I.D in the UK) now I find them boring so don't go to them at all anymore, would rather drink in the comfort of my room watching or listening to whatever than go out and be surrounded by nobheads who can't handle their drinking or are on shitty cheap drugs at every corner and being charged £3 odd a pint.

I've gone out to Manhattan for the last six years straight(went to times square last year, just so I can say I did it once) , this year I worked until 1 am, and went home, I had a couple of parties I could have gone to, but decided against it.

Maybe in Wales. There are plenty of nice places if you bother to look. Went out last night, had fun, but it was essentially just a normal night out. That's all it is anyway.

Sometimes. Went out to our minor league hockey game, watched our team win after going down 3-0.

Well I don't normally spend it alone. I went and stayed a night at my buddies house last night because I drank a lot so no driving. He had a small party and all we did was drink, played pool, and some other games. Then light off fireworks at Mid night. Played and drink some more until 2:30.
This was the plan b that worked well. Plan A. went too crap when I had a date but she backed out last min. Long story.
