I agree with OP about the bad green screen. Here's the thing, Jericho has been doing well in his quest to turn Fozzy from a "fake" cover band into a serious metal group. But when I saw the part of that video with the cheesy effects, it almost felt like a step back in all that.
Anyway, rooting for them, their actual music has been nice.

Fozzy is simply awful. The general Metal Community has no opinion of them because they aren't a big deal. They are hardly even a small deal. They have toured, played crap venues as headliners and done the same as curtain jerkers. They have also played a respectable amount of festivals but that would likely be their biggest claim to fame. For a band that has been around for over 10 years, they haven't accomplished much. Good for Chris Jericho being able to live out his fantasy and all but I wish more people would be honest with him. I understand some out there legitimately like what he is doing and that is fine (to each their own) but I liken Fozzy as being to Metal what the Insane Clown Posse is to rap. They played Download, which isn't exactly a minor gig. A friend of mine saw 'em, didn't know who they were, but said they were pretty well received. Suppose some of the crowd could've been wrasslin' fans, but I doubt you'd go to Download just for Y2J

If I ever got to play something as large as the Download festival, I'd consider myself a HUGE rock star! At least for a second anyway.

I write in some metal sites, and heard absolutely no one mention them.
They're not dreadful or anything,it's just that they don't bring anything special or different to the table. I'm happy for Jericho, but Fozzy doesn't have one song I like.

No one is saying Fozzy is in the same league as other big metal bands or anything- I would. Me personally, I'd buy a Fozzy album quicker than I'd buy an AC/DC album, and not even for Jericho. That guitarists are always on point; even with "To Kill a Stranger," which I didn't too much care for the vocals.

Like most of you, I don't know how well the band is received, but last year on the "black carpet" of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Dee Snider interviewed Jericho and Zakk Wylde of BLS fame, and it was like they were all best friends having a normal, fun conversation. So Jericho himself seems to be respected.

Did anyone else notice how gnarly Jericho's hand looked in that close-up in the woods, or was that just me?

That was a smegging awesome Evil Dead tribute. The flying through the trees was pretty much a perfect recreation of the start of Evil Dead 2, and I really didn't expect the tree rape. Just wish Jericho had worn an actual Ash costume.

Zakk Wydle is also a huge wrestling fan and met Jericho at Ozzfest (I think) back when Jericho and Fozzy were starting to get serious about touring and they got drunk together and have been friends ever since. For the most part, I think Jericho understands that Fozzy aren't gonna be the next big thing, but they seem to have a decent following in Europe.

I think they'd be a lot better if Jericho wasn't such a shit singer. The rest of the band isn't bad, just nothing outstanding.

I remember when i saw Fozzy a few years back, Jericho kept praising treacle pudding. He even got a chant going: TREACLE PUDDING! TREACLE PUDDING!
Check out guitarist Rich Ward's old band Stuck Mojo:

I don't doubt it would be an awesome experience but realistically looking at it, they played on day two of a three day festival on a secondary stage at a festival featuring around 100 other bands. I am willing to bet them getting on that bill had more to do with connections than it did with their ability to increase ticket sales with their massive following. Everyone in the band is good or even great. Everyone except Jericho. His latest book also soured me on the band even more (the way he built them up felt borderline delusional). I loathed the Fozzy stories almost as much as I enjoyed his first book.

I preferred the first two albums. Now granted, most of the songs were covers, but the original songs were heavily influenced by old school British metal. BTW, here's a page from a metal site praising fozzy (afaik, the reviewer isnt a wrestling fan): www.nolifetilmetal.com/fozzy.htm

Moongoose McQueen > Chris Jericho Not sure what that has to do with anything since they are clearly different people.

Everyone in the band is good or even great. Everyone except Jericho. Much like the "Ziggler can't cut promos" talk, I don't understand the "Jericho is a bad frontman" criticisms. While your taste may vary, he has great stage presence, has a strong voice and is a decent lyricist. He's unlikely to ever win a Grammy, but he's far from a hack.
