WWE trademarked the term "WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION" on November 2nd, 2005. The trademark filed states: "Entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through the media of television; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network." At this time, WWE is not allowed to use the term WWF due to a lawsuit filed and won by the World Wildlife Fund. www.wrestlinginc.com

Let's hope so!
And I hope they mark the return of the "F" with a Ultimate Warrior/Cena feud.

That could just be a precaution that for old-time DVDs and such, they can still say "World Wrestling Federation" without the Wildlife Fund jumping down their throats that they're still saying the term "WWF"....

Maybe they want the right to say "WWF" in the dvds in atleast the old footage. There are those moments when they start WW then blank. its annoying as hell to watch and must be to actually do since its tedious crap.

I'd like to see them go back to WWF too. At the very least, it would be nice to see them not have to digitally blur the WWF logo on DVDs or cut the audio when they say the initials.
I think it's okay for them to say World Wrestling Federation since it's clearly different from World Wildlife Fund.

Frankly, 'WWE' has grown on me. This is yet more 'we were better back then' crap that they're proliferating. I say leave the E where it is.
The scrawled logo's not as good as the Attitude one, granted, though I don't see they couldn't have put the 'E' on the end of the dubya dubya like the old 'F' was.
They really need to stop harking back to the Golden Years. Its nothing but admittance to the fact that the current problem sucks...
So why don't they fix it instead of wasting time? Besides, 'WWE Champion' sounds so much better than 'WWF Champion'.

I prefer wwf, but have grown attached to calling them "The E".

I guess it's kind of a non-issue, but I'd be okay with either

Either way, I'm good. It'd be nice not to have blurred out WWF logos everywhere, but other than that, WWE has grown on me.

I like what this represents. Back when the name was changed, it was because the compnay had gotten lazy and was willing to make the fans adapt to the change. Now that they need to win fans back, they seem to be willing to fight more battles to protect the quality of the product.

Anything to stop the blurring of logo's on dvds.....Anything!
Of course, if they'd just invest some of their money in a decemt blurring program (of such a thing exists) then I widnae even care

The WWE name is OK, but they need a new logo.

Blurred logos and bleeped f's aside, I don't really care anymore. I'll always prefer WWF, but there are bigger problems in the world. Like right in my own apartment at this very moment my dinner is burning and I'm finishing this post. Son of a $%^$*

I don't understand, why is it at first they could still at least SAY WWF. On the Hogan DVD he refers to it as WWF, until he actually talks about stuff that happened after the name change, then he says WWE. Then around the time of the Warrior and LOD DVD's, they aren't even allowed to say WWF anymore?

I also realized, wouldn't it suck if they DID get back the WWF name and then re-released all the DVD's without the blurring? I would be pretty mad if I bought the Wrestlemania box set and then a few months later, an un-blurred version came out.

I prefer WWF over WWE because I think it sounds better. World Wrestling Federation Champion sounds better than WWE Champion and it makes the belt seem more important. I can still hear the Fink now.......................The winner, and NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW World Wrestling Federation Champion The Immortal Hulk Hogan!!!!!
