I've been playing it & I think it's much better than part 5. It's nowhere as good as the older games, but it's not a bad game at all. It doesn't deserve all the bad reviews.

I haven't played it yet but from I've seen, it at least looks like a Resident Evil game (for the most part), which is more than I can say for 5.

It is an unfinished mess. Capcom should've stuck to making one campaign and polished the hell out of it than make three half assed campaigns.
Not to mention the overabundance of QTEs......or that it plays like a worse version of Operation Raccoon City(which I liked but only because I paid just $20 for it, I had fun with the game but that game had glaring flaws).
Really the only things I can commend the game for is the shooting on your back mechanic was ingenious, and Helena, Sherry, and Ada were looking fine.

I'd honestly say RE5 is more of an RE game than RE6, aside from the early goings of Leon's campaign. The start of Leon's campaign was more of an RE game than all of 5 and the rest of 6.

Never played 6, I'm still bitter about RE5. The game has no fear anymore, it's gone Hollywood. No I'm not talking about the movies, I mean it's loaded with explosions and all that jazz. I want to see the return of the horror movie and not the weekend blockbuster.

Well, I do agree that it probably should have been one really long campaign instead of 4 different ones. But when comparing it to RE5, I've been enjoying this one way more. RE5 just felt really dull for a lot of it to me. At least part 6 has a lot of the main RE characters in it again with a dark tone to it unlike 5. Also, It's cool that zombies are back in this one. The only thing that made RE5 a RE game to me was having Chris & Wesker in it. Looking back most of RE5 was so damn boring.

At least I can play RE5. RE6 pissed me off to no end. Unfinished, unpolished mess of gameplay mechanics. Only good thing about the controls is the "shooting-on-your-back" feature. Yeah RE5 wasn't scary enough as compared to the previous games, but neither is RE6 aside from Leon's campaign early in. Not even playing with a friend made 6 fun, which is what I enjoyed about 5.
If there's one cool thing I can say about 6's story, it's that the main characters actually crossed paths on-screen. That face-off between Chris and Leon was just awesome. I actually really like the idea of the 3 stories (4 counting Ada's) that tie together in a RE game. If only they actually took the time to finish making the game instead of half-assing it and expecting everyone to love it because it's a RE title. RE6 could have been MUCH better than it was, it had the potential.

The only thing scary about RE6 is the amount of QTE's in it.

Eh I've hated the direction the series went with 4 on the Gamecube. I find it funny that the RE1 remake on the gamecube is one of the best resi games ever and then comes 4 that basically (in my opinion) killed the series. On subject, I did play RE5 co-op and HATED it. Cruddy story, shoot, shoot, shoot gameplay and QTEs in a game that didn't need it. Also for those people who say co-op games can't be scary, play left 4 dead 1. So my interest was dead when 6 came out and my brother who is a massive fan of 4 and 5, still hasn't completed it because he doesn't want to play it.
So basically if a big mark doesn't want to play it, it's not gonna attract a jaded guy who hates the new direction. *sorry for the rant*

I hated this game...which is bad when I'm a huge R.E. fan and even somewhat liked 4 and 5. Six was just a terrible excuse for a game in the series.
It's only slightly better than Vampire Rain to me.

Well I guess i'm in the minority of liking 6 more than 5. Eh, they're honestly interchangeable for me. I thought both sucked. Loved RE4, but I think RE5 and 6 lost sight of what made the game so good and instead focused on the weaker things or "fixed" things that made them much worse.

At least with 6, they tried something a bit different with the different campaigns that connect & a darker tone than 5. I'm not saying it's a great game, but in my opinion it's a better game than part 5. I do wish the series would just go back to strictly horror again though, but that's not likely to happen.

The thing that made RE4 good that 5 and 6 lack is atmosphere. RE4 may not have been truly scary but it still gives you this sense of constant dread hanging above Leon's head. RE5 and 6 go too far into the action shooter direction. They are closer to the RE films than the previous RE games.

The only thing scary about 5 were The Reapers in my opinion. I hated those damn things.
