Normally I'd always say that the Rumble should close the Royal Rumble PPV. But this year, I definitely feel that the show is going to be measured on Punk vs. Rock. That definitely feels like the most important match on the card with what honestly sells the most stakes.
We have Punk coming off one of the longest title reigns in a long time, Rock making one of his rare wrestling appearances and gunning for a title he hasn't held in over 10 years. On the other hand, the Rumble just feels like an afterthought with no real feuds or stories going into it at this point. I definitely think they should close with Punk/Rock unless they want to risk burning out the audience.

The Royal Rumble should always, always go on last, IMHO.

Punk vs Rock is the ONLY exception to the rule. It should go on last. Maybe going on last will mean WWE might take a risk and have someone unexpected win the Rumble.

It depends on who's the winner for me, depending of his "starpower", if they go with Bryan or some guy like that(not criticizing him, just talking about his place on the card), I'd put it before, but if they give it to someone like Orton they can put it after, and if it's Cena they can just put it after the PPV, after the crowd left and with no cameras on.

Punk vs. Rock in my opinion. I realise it's the Royal Rumble but it isn't as prestigious as it used to be. Winning the Royal Rumble used to guarantee you the main event at the biggest show of the year which made it a huge deal and acceptable to be the main event on a card where the biggest title in your company is being defended. However, nowadays winning the Rumble likely means you'll be curtain jerking so it doesn't have the importance that the WWE Championship match has. If this was Punk vs. Henry I'd still say that it should main event because it is more important in kayfabe than the Royal Rumble. This being such a huge match like Punk vs. Rock just makes it all the more obvious to me that it should main event.

Rock vs. Punk. This is almost a dream match-up for the biggest prize in THIS BUSINESS!
Not that im trying to down the Rumble, Its always been my favorite PPV. Its just that this year in particular there wont be any real surprises, I believe. Cena, Orton, Sheamus, or Ryback are probably gonna win the damn thing. I dont think people would be too thrilled with any of these choices. More often than not, its usually a Smackdown superstar, so they will probably be gunning for the WHC, so the value is diminished. If they really want Cena to win the Rumble to face Rock, have Rock close out to let everyone leave happy. Cena will get booed when he wins so the reaction will be lukewarm at best. Basing it off crowd reaction does sound dumb but I honestly think that more people will be excited to see Rock closing out the show with his arm in the air holding the WWE title than anything the Rumble would bring. Rock and Punk deserve to close it out. Rumble doesnt have a lot of meaning anymore, especially if Cena wins.
Only problem would be the crowd might be dead after the Rumble, so the people might not be fully engaged in the match. But thats the only downside to Rock V. Punk closing the show, imho.

The Royal Rumble.
I think Punk/Rock's one of the most must see matches in a long while, but I just enjoy the last hour of the show being filled with anticipation & surprise.
With that being said if Rock/Punk goes on last I won't complain, I'd just prefer the Rumble to headline.

They could do either really. I'll be surprised if Punk/Rock isn't last though.

Royal Rumble, because Cena winning before Punk/Rock gives away the main event.

I'm looking forward to Rock vs. Punk far more than I am the Rumble (though I'm pretty psyched about that, too), so I'd love to see the WWE title match headline.
Could be either, though. I have no real opinion on what should main event - but I'd definitely prefer if Rock/Punk did.

The WWE title match will definitely go on last if Rock is winning the title. They're not going to cut away from an epic Rock title celebration to move onto another match. If Rock wins the last image of the show will be either him posing on the turnbuckle holding the title in the air or a staredown with Cena (if he wins the Rumble earlier in the night) to set up 'Mania.
If the title match goes on before the Rumble though then I think it's a giveaway that Rock is losing.

Match order shouldn't be based on who's going to be winning. The WWE's already predictable enough as it is.

Rumble, but it would only work if it has a truly epic ending. Otherwise it would feel so underwhelming after Rock/Punk. Maybe, Rock coming in as a surprise only to be taken out by Lesnar.

We've seen it done both ways and personally I prefer it when the Rumble is the last match. It makes the Rumble match and the Rumble winner seem more important.

I think they'll put Rock/Punk on last. Rock being on a PPV is still a bigger deal than usual but I don't think the end result will have much to do with this decision. That said WWE does like to "send people home happy" on big shows like this, so I think we're looking at Rock winning, maybe with the Rumble winner coming back out to stare him down.
