They can't have The Shield turn out to be working for Punk after what just transpired. That would make all parties involved look extremely stupid.
I say face turn when it turns out that Punk had nothing to do with any of it, and therefore he got screwed out of the title.

I'm guessing because Vince hates him because he's a bad guy. Which is why he restarted the match on the Rock's call and has been attempting to stick it to Punk since the night Punk smacked that fan around.

I'd love to see him feud with Taker.

Yeah but Heyman is a law....well, Heyman has some sort of legal way of doing things to WWE it seems.

Considering Vince's son in law's first instinct when facing trouble with the law is to punch the guy enforcing the lawsuit, I don't think Vince would've cared for any legalities going into this match.

I don't want to see Rock/Punk/Cena since we KNOW who will win. Man, quite frankly I can't imagine a scenario where he has a big match up that he wins...
I wonder if their plans hinge on tomorrow's RAW rating at all. If they start doing massive ratings with Rock as champ... Hmmm.... nah.

Feud with Taker.
Or Lesnar.

I want the angry tweener Voice of the Voiceless back. His face run was pretty pathetic, and this heel turn is so damned paint-by-numbers. I want the CM Punk who did the contract signing with Vince a couple summers ago. He wasn't a pure heel, but he was also self-admittedly being a complete asshole. That's so much more entertaining than whatever he's doing now.

I'm assuming they mean because you could clearly see the Sheild attacking the Rock when the lights were out.

Either against Rock and Cena or against Taker at Mania. The night after, Heyman has Lesnar take out Punk, because Punk failed him.
Punk takes some time off, and we get Punk vs Lesnar at SummerSlam.

They seem to want clear defined characters for the crowds to have Pavlovian reflexes to catchphrases, entrance themes etc. While the heel vs. face paradigm has been done since the beginning of wrestling's existence, it is still the most productive way of drawing a larger audience as opposed to nuanced characters who teeter on the good guy/bad guy spectrum. As much as internet fans may not like hearing it, the WWE upper management is no different than TV or music executives. They feel 'dumbing down' their product will draw a larger pool of people.

I'd like a face turn and feud with Lesnar. No idea where that leaves Taker, though.

Possibly a match with Taker at Wrestlemania. And I expect Punk to regain the WWE title from John Cena before Summerslam (where he'll drop it to Ryback).
