Tag with Cena. Crack jokes. And if they hate then let them hate and watch the money pile up. "The new Rock and Roll Express!" That's how we got all those illegitimate children in the Smoky Mountain region in the 1980s. Condoms to the Rock and Roll Express was more foreign to them than Nikita Koloff.

How bout Punk/Lesnar/Triple H? Sounds like a weird match but it could turn out awesome, and there's a lot of history to weave together.

I'd be all for turning Punk back, but I hate what WWE does with faces. It's like, heels get to have all the personality, but faces have to be the smiling, awful joke telling buddies of the crowd. The way they treated Punk as a face was awful - just let Punk be Punk and people are going to love him. People do anyway, as was pointed out, just let him do his thing and don't give him the cookie cutter treatment.

Maybe i'm just tired, but how is this quote an issue? The fact Heyman almost said he was the brains behind everything and manipulated Punk?

Could Punk turn face that quickly though? After all the "You don't matter!" stuff he's been spewing lately, I don't know how you'd backtrack from that. Punk could turn face in one 10 minute promo and the crowd would eat it up. Hell until very recently, we'd get CM Punk chants when he'd come out 20 minutes later after just trashing the whole building for just as long. Without him doing anything but just appearing again.

They should turn Punk into HIMSELF. Don't turn him face, don't keep him whiny wimpy heel. Let him be his own man and let him actually win matches clean! That way he could be the greatest heel in decades. Also, please Lesnar/Punk. I have no interest in Lesnar/HHH.

could he really be a face though? Tweener or anti-hero perhaps, but I can't see him playing and pandering to fans anymore, after the "Make no mistake about it, I am a bad guy" line

He got the chants in the first half of the ME on Sunday, when he was carrying the match. He's not the heel with the crowd, as much as Heyman is. It's the same effect with Lesnar, they need him as the crutch to define them as heels.

[Punk does something faceish] Heyman:"You can't just turn your back to me and go back to them! After everything you said--" Rock:"IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT HE SAID!" [They beat up Heyman and generic heels #1 and #2. Handshake. Punk's face.] What I'm saying is, this is rock paper scissors and Rock beats Logic.

Punk needs to stay as a heel. He's clearly the top heel in the company and it isn't close. As a face he falls behind Cena and probably even Ryback now in the pecking order.

Going to be hard to stay a heel when there's no faces for him to face. He's already done Cena, Ryback obviously has to go over him, after that, what? Is it worth a Sheamus program to keep him heel?

There are plenty of feuds for him as a heel. A post-Mania Ryback feud could take a few months. Maybe Brock turns and they feud. There's always the possibility of another HHH feud. And yes, a Sheamus or Del Rio, although that doesn't really excite me. Maybe a face Daniel Bryan. Oh, and Undertaker (at Wrestlemania). There's a lot more possibilities than there is for him as a face, IMO.

Really the only thing that should be a given is the Ryback feud, just because the first feud did Ryback no good. I just don't see the worth in it. To be the top heel you have to win a feud over someone eventually. If he just gets lined up for everyone, he's not the top heel anymore. The turn was a bit of a necessity to drag the title reign out to the ridiculous length they did. I'd turn him back by the end of the summer. Cena is in far bigger need of fresh opponents than Punk is.

I think you're reading way too much into it. Or maybe there's some wishful thinking going on.
To me it seemed clear that segment was for one thing and one thing only -- to set up Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar for Wrestlemania.
Just like Rock vs. Cena II, that rematch has been set in stone for several months now.

The only reason Heyman stopped himself is because Punk lost the title. Hence he's no longer BITW without the WWE title to prove it.
Until last Monday night Heyman never had any problems affirming that Punk was BITW. It's not like we're supposed to assume he stopped himself from saying it because of Brock (they played it as if Brock's interruption was a shock to everyone-- but of course Heyman is a master liar!)

I've wondered why Heyman was brought in as a mouthpiece for Punk since the beginning - makes no sense. Punk's mic skills are great. Then I realized this is WWE's safety net for if/when they turn punk face again. He can say that Heyman manipulated him.
Unless there's a Brock/Punk/Shield alliance in the works.

Alberto Del Rio turned face right after running over Santa Claus, for goodness sake.

It saddens me that people want face Punk back. He plays an amazing dick, most likely because he's being himself dialed up to 11. I have no desire to see "Ice cream bars!" Punk back.
